The question is not clear: if the "deposit is over", therefore, there is no money on the card? In general, you can withdraw money abroad in almost any currency, you just need to choose from those offered. Usually, you first choose the language of communication (in Turkey and Egypt, this is mainly local, English, German and Russian), and then the already proposed type of currency. And the ATM gives out, everything is simple))
аватар kolyan_cat
Usually, if the deposit is over (the term has expired), you need to transfer money from the deposit account to the current one, this simple operation is performed at the ATM of the bank that issued the card. You can also use the call center of the bank. After that, money can be withdrawn. However, it all depends on the bank, perhaps some banks do not need to do this. You just have to try to withdraw money.
However, it should be remembered that in any country I change a currency other than the local one, you will lose part of the amount - the exchange rate is too high, + in many countries there is an additional commission for currency exchange, +% for cash withdrawals in a foreign bank. In my personal experience, losses can be up to 20% during an unstable exchange rate.
аватар Pachok
If this is Ukraine, then some banks practice this option: at the end of the deposit, it is automatically transferred to a card account in the same bank.
Galina, you can withdraw euros from ATMs abroad, if such a transaction on your card is "opened" by the bank. To open (or check) before the trip, you need to call the card support service of your bank and open a card for settlements and cash withdrawals in a certain country for a certain period. Also, the bank will tell you the daily limit that you can withdraw.
Z.Y. Visa Electron, it seems, is not a credit ... Are you confusing anything?
аватар Galina50
Thanks for all the answers, I understand the situation.
I figuratively called my euro deposit card a credit card, I don't know how else to call it. Maybe banking? The deposit is over and I am slowly being given euros from the deposit, but I will soon fly to the Emirates and I want to pick up some of the money there as well.
Bpnk said that abroad you can pick up no more than 400 euros per day. But is the percentage for issuing cash really going to be around 20%?
аватар Pachok
Maybe not 20, but a decent percentage will be collected :(. The card is in euros, in the UAE - dirhams, the local bank will definitely transfer the conversion through its currency. Next is the Visa card, and they are pegged to the dollar, unlike the Master Card, in general, maybe even pump up the Visa rate.Another percentage of your bank + a percentage of the local bank ...
400 - is this their rule or can you increase the limit? The NBU limits the equivalent to UAH 15,000, i.e. approximately now 750 Euro.
By the way, I don’t know if all banks work this way, but at FUIB they told me that if I want to make a large purchase abroad, then there is no such restriction according to card payments.
аватар Oleksii64
It's called debit...
1. Eletron - may not pass abroad.
2. Try to pay for purchases - less commission.
3. The bank may have different rates for paying with a card and buying currency at a branch (this is for hryvnia, for example, Privat)
4. Changing the limit on a withdrawer and just a blocking card can happen at any time.
20% is a bit too much. Once again, contact the bank - let them sign their commissions for you. Well, plus% of the UAE bank, Visa - is it Euro-Dollar-Dirham-Euro? here% is small, but it is there.
It's hard to say, try it... Depends on the amount of the deposit, which bank - can you get some cash at home? In any case, do not count on the card !!! Take cash with you.
аватар Oleksii64
""Dear customer, thank you for your question!
Commission for withdrawing own funds from ATMs and cash points abroad 2%.
Note that payment for goods and services at retail outlets and the Internet, at the expense of personal funds, is carried out without a commission.
Sincerely, P....Bank""
Here, in the subject, accidentally dug up. But different banks have their own grinds. All the same - 20% for soybeans is a scam.
аватар kolyan_cat
Before writing "this is a scam", I recommend that you first read the message in full. For those who are too lazy to read and understand, I will explain again.
20% is the real figure, and it's not just cash withdrawal fees. In the printout from the bank there are 3 positions (!!) when performing a cash withdrawal operation. I'm not saying that this figure is stable at 20%, everything can change and different banks have different conditions, but in general, the amount will still be large.
Let's look at a real example of what is included in 20%
I shot the Euro in France in April, then I took a printout from the bank. My bank is Unicredit, the card is VISA-electron.
1. In the printout, the rate at issue was 20 UAH / Euro, despite the fact that in Ukraine there was a rate of 17. Already 3 gr. difference, which is already 17%.
2. The commission for withdrawing funds, which was mentioned above, is just small, in my case it was only 1%.
3. Commission for currency exchange - another 1%.
The total is 19%.
Someday I'll get together and write a report about the trip to Brazil, it's even worse there. First, the hryvnia is converted into dollars, at an overvalued rate, then the dollars are converted into local tugriks again at an overvalued rate, + local tax on currency exchange = as a result, a loss of about 30%.
аватар kolyan_cat
Also, in pursuit - when the bank writes "Commission for cash withdrawal abroad - 2%", before rejoicing, we must remember that the bank is a commercial institution, the main thing for which is to generate profit, and not give away freebies. And since the bank does not issue money abroad itself, but attracts another bank for this, which also needs profit - plus both want to insure their risks, it is clear that it is naive to hope for only 2%. Of course, in this case, the author of the question, as it turned out, did not have a hryvnia but a euro card, but all the same, currency exchange + overvaluation of the exchange rate by banks to insure the exchange rate difference will take place.
аватар Pachok
Just hryvnia, it would be easier - conversion only once.
аватар kolyan_cat
On the hryvnia, when converting, higher exchange rate risks are laid down due to instability. In addition, it is not a fact that 1 conversion - it may be an option that the conversion goes through an intermediate currency - the dollar.
аватар Pachok
No, they are not. It has been verified that the Visa rate is better than in our banks and exchange offices.
аватар Galina50
I put euros on the deposit a year ago, but if I withdraw dollars from this card in the Emirates, will I avoid the extra payment for converting dollars into euros? Although euros are needed for summer holidays.
аватар Pachok
Don't know. What does the bank say?
аватар kolyan_cat
How is it not laid down? Whence then the course 20 at real 17 in the example described by me? This year, on 3 trips on a business trip, I paid with a hryvnia card and withdrew cash from it, then upon arrival I made a printout and gave it to the accounting department for compensation. Always the course was with a significant "margin". An employee who was with me and had the imprudence to buy eau de toilette in the Frankfurt deutik and also paid with a UAH Visa, then when she saw how much they had taken from her, she cried, with such an overpayment for the course it turned out that in Ukraine it would be cheaper to buy in a regular store.
In a week I'm flying to Europe again, for the sake of interest I'll do the same trick, I'll post the result.
аватар Pachok
Well, I had a completely different experience two weeks ago. Pounds were considered at 21.1, when in Ukraine they did not fall below 22.4. Direct conversion from hryvnia to pounds, visa card, no intermediate fees. And in the Dutik, most likely, they drove her visa from the hryvnia to the dollar, then to the Euro. We must immediately say in what currency to shoot, they like to cheat in dutik:(((
аватар Pachok
If you were withdrawing cash, then it was not the exchange rate that played a role, but the commissions of two banks, it is difficult to calculate the exchange rate.
аватар Oleksii64
kolyan_cat - What does the hryvnia exchange rate have to do with it? A person has EURO in his account - already minus 17%!
аватар Oleksii64
Galina50 - The base currency of the Visa is the dollar, i.e. all calculations are reduced to dollars, and then to the requested currency.
For example, when buying goods from your visa card with euros in the Emirates store, the transactions will be as follows: Euro - USD. - Dirham. % - only visa rates when buying dollars for euros and dirhams for dollars - minimal losses.
If you find an ATM with dollars, then plus to the above %%, 2% of our bank will go (each has its own!, in my example it is Pr.bank) and% of the Bank of the Emirates for issuing cash - which one, I can’t say, but, I think moderate.
I think if you need euros, then it makes sense to withdraw in euros, then it will be problematic (expensive) to convert dollars to euros at home.
If not difficult, sound your bank.

Visa courses on 15.11,
purchase - sale
EUR/USD 1.2401/1.2547
,
USD/dirham 3.6730/3.6731
,
Euro/Dirham 4.555/4.6085
,
You can estimate,% is the minimum. There you are not here :)

""I recommend that you read the entire post first. For those who are too lazy to read and delve into, I will explain again "" - Kolyan, are you talking about yourself ???? :)))))))

Bank "Delta", the deposit ended in September. Euros are given little by little and not every day, you probably know the current situation. And you already have a ticket for the end of November in Abu Dhabi. I don’t plan to buy large ones in the Emirates, because not the first time there. Only for food and a couple of souvenirs, such as another magnet.
I could well pick up dollars already for shopping in Kiev. If dollars, then I will lose less money from the card?
аватар Pachok
No, not less. The card is in euros.
I repeat - go to the bank and do not "get off" with the manager until he writes you at least his own and visa commissions.
аватар Pachok
No, not less. The card is in euros.
I repeat - go to the bank and do not "get off" with the manager until he writes you at least his own and visa commissions.
аватар Oleksii64
Delta! Galina, so it was necessary to start with this. Shoot over the hill everything that you can. Don't care commis. and euro-dollar losses. !
1. "" go to the bank and do not "get off" with the manager until he writes you at least his own and visa commissions. ""
.
2. Electron over the hill - I don’t know, hammer the manager, if it doesn’t pass in the Emirates, maybe it makes sense to open the classic - if you have time.
.
3. Put a department on your ears (although there are a lot of them now) - like 10 years I collected for a trip, not a cent in cash, and if I don’t withdraw money there, I’ll come back and it won’t seem enough to you.
.
4. Perhaps you need to write a statement about the use of the card abroad.
аватар Oleksii64
Pachok, I'm not 100% sure, but when you withdraw from the euro visa, does the euro double convert the euro - the base currency dollar - euro?
,
Accordingly, when removing a buck, we have only one conversion?
аватар Oleksii64
Standard limits set for Debit cards of Delta Bank JSC:
Cash withdrawal from ATM network:
Delta Bank JSC: UAH 2,500 per day *;
other banks on the territory of Ukraine: UAH 1,000 per day for accounts that are serviced in tariff packages "Oshchadna card No. 1" / "Oshchadna card No. 1 Debit" and UAH 2,500 per day for all other accounts served in other tariff packages ;
abroad: UAH 2,500 per day;
500 UAH per day in the following countries: Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Bulgaria.
.
.
Well, what can I say .... In Tae, 25 euros per day and do not deny yourself anything.
аватар Pachok
I'm not sure of anything either! But when withdrawing dollars from a card into Euros in a country with a third currency, I can also easily start the conversion through dirhams!
Standard limits can be increased by a call or an application up to the limit set by the NBU.
аватар Oleksii64
Pachok - it used to be like this, the NBU limit, etc. Although what is the limit ??? My money - lope I want something and shoot. But it is, la-la. Each bank has its own limits and limits of the NBU. Like, say thank you for giving out at least something sometimes.
.
You can call Delta, but for each transaction separately. The conversation is not for 1 minute - you will go bankrupt on the phone.
аватар Galina50
In "Delta" they said yesterday that I can withdraw foreign currency in the amount of no more than 2500 gr. per day, they take 5% of the amount withdrawn per day, and later, when they called at the call center, they said that abroad you can withdraw currency for 30 thousand in one month.
What if I'm going for a few days end of November-beginning of December?
