We rested at Fujairah Rotana Resort&Spa on 31.10. 11-6.11. 11. The room was Clasic balcon i. e. overlooking the ocean in the main building of the hotel. The food was BB, due to the excessively high prices for HB and All inclusive in the UAE as such.
Number.
We had a room on the 3rd floor (the reception is considered the ground floor). All rooms in the main building offer ocean and hotel pool views. The best view from rooms xx10…xx25. Of course, the view from the 4th floor is better than from the first. There was a minibar with 16 drinks in the room (the prices are unrealistic), the promised iron and ironing board were not. But it was free
hair dryer, safe, electric kettle (0.5 l), tea and coffee set, LCD TV LG 26”, free daily 2x0.5 l types in bottles.
For a fee there is also a cable for connecting to the Internet (did not use).

Central air conditioning without a remote control (which is inconvenient) you can only set the temperature and adjust the fan speed. Our fan was not regulated and rotated only at low speeds.
To decrease the temperature in the room by 2 degrees. You need 2 hours of air conditioning.
The bathroom had a bidet and two showers: a watering can on top and a flexible one on the wall. There is no bathroom, instead a shower cabin, fenced off by a glass partition.
A room with a ceiling of about 3.5 m and dimensions of about 3.8x5.4 m, a large balcony - 3.8x2 m.
Adjacent rooms, for example 1302 and 1303.1304 and 1305 (these are all on the 3rd floor) have an internal door between them, which is convenient for a large company to relax.
Swimming pool
the hotel is small and shallow. About half of it (separated by a bridge) is a children's pool. Swimming in the adult part of the pool is uncomfortable, because you constantly cling to the bottom with your feet. The water is highly chlorinated. The treatment circulation system is either absent or not included.
Beach
wide sand and shells about 100 m long + nearby there is a boat station for water activities, which takes about 60 more m. The neighboring Le Meridien hotel does not have a boat station and the beach is about 160 m long.
A similar length of the beach and the Intercontinental hotel under construction behind Le Meridien. At the bottom of the ocean near the beach at a depth of about 1-1.5 m at low tide (i. e. during the day) there is a ridge of stones, apparently, the remains of coral. It is about 30 m long and starts about 10 m from the northern border of the beach. This is unpleasant - you can hurt your legs.
We didn’t notice any dangerous aquatic animals (like sea urchins) and it seems that we don’t need protective slippers for swimming, but it’s easy to injure your feet on these stones. True, thanks to the underwater stone ridge, you can see different fish. Although in the Red Sea the fish are brighter and more diverse.
There are many sun loungers on the beach, but few umbrellas (about 45 pcs. ), so finding a place in the shade is problematic.

Sunrise in early November at 6-30, and over the mountain it sets at 16-40. At 17:50 it is already dark.
Fuel oil.
The main trouble of all Fujera hotels: both the Redison Blu, located 20 km away, and the Marimar and Le Meridien hotels located next to the Rotana, is fuel oil in the ocean.
Its granules with dimensions of 2x3x3…7x7x7 mm constantly float near the shore and lie on it in stripes. All the talk that the oil slick comes and goes is a fiction. Fuel oil in the water constantly.
The horror film was on the morning of November 1 - after a night tide and a small storm, the bottom of the first row of deck chairs on the beach was covered with a scattering of fuel oil 1-1.5 m wide. The legs of the deck chairs were also covered with a layer of it. On the beach of the hotel, not only fuel oil pellets were lying, but its pieces 30x450 cm in size and 3-5 cm thick. That is, in order to swim, one had to wade along the bases of umbrellas, since it was impossible to step over a wide strip of fuel oil.
Fuel oil is in a plasticine-like state, and sticks to the body with low heat or if it is simply stepped on. Sometimes it sticks to the body even in water. As a result, after swimming or even moving along the beach for 50-70 m, the feet were covered with black oil stains up to 3x5 cm in size and 0.5-1 mm thick. Sometimes up to 70% of the foot was dirty, sometimes -20%.
That is, every day twice before leaving the beach, the following procedure had to be performed: first, with a scraper (there are enough shells on the beach), clean off the thickest stains of fuel oil. Then you need to go to the lifeguard (or the point of issue of towels) take from them pieces of cloth soaked in Johnson Baby oil and rub the feet for 5-6 minutes. Of course, beach slippers also suffered, which also had to be cleaned of fuel oil. It goes without saying that fuel oil is everywhere on the hotel paths: both near the reception and near the pool. As a result, we managed to stain even sun hats in fuel oil.
Contingent of vacationers

Approximately 50-70% are Russian speakers, as well as Germans, Poles, English. There were also some Arabs, especially on Friday and Sunday.
Dollar exchange rate.
In the hotel 1 dollar = 3.5 dirhams, in other places (gas stations, shops, restaurants outside the hotel) - 3.66 dirhams. Although the rate at the airport was 3.61.
Nutrition.
Meals for breakfast were very varied and plentiful: several types of cheese and cheese, two types of sausages, sausage, fried meat, 3 types of scrambled eggs. Fruits: watermelon, bananas, pineapple, tangerines, etc. Vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, olives, olives, raisins, dried apricots, etc. Several types of cereals, muesli, baked potatoes, soup, about 8 types of buns and cupcake. Three days in a row (from Friday to Sunday) there was smoked salmon, fried red fish, beef steak with blood, and without blood.
Spoiled the impression of a strange situation with tea and coffee. Both drinks were served in stainless steel vessels with a capacity of approximately 0.5 liters. and only by waiters - one tea and one coffee per table. That is, it was problematic to drink tea well, as I used to. For some reason, teaspoons periodically disappeared, and I had to stir the sugar in the tea with a knife.
Restaurant opening hours: breakfast 7-00 - 10-30, lunch 12-30 - 15-00, dinner 18-30 - 22-30.
In connection with Eid al-Adha, an announcement appeared at the entrance to the restaurant: “From 4.
11 to 11.11 lunch 145 dirhams (41.5 dollars), dinner 150 dirhams (43 dollars). Light drinks included. "
It is very expensive. For comparison: on the road along the hotels there is an advertisement for the Le Meridien hotel, which offers: lunch 100 dirhams, dinner 120 dirhams.
At lunchtime we made do with tea and sandwiches in the room (it's hot and you don't feel like eating). For dinner we went to the neighboring village of Dadna to a restaurant (there is a quite decent supermarket next to it). Walk about 20 min. Dinner for two cost 50-70 dirhams, i. e. 5-6 times cheaper than if you eat at a hotel.
Service staff.

At the reception there is a Russian-speaking girl Anna, who perfectly solved all issues. Thank her. By the way, you don’t need to invest money in your passport asking for a good number, as is done in Turkey and Egypt - there is a video surveillance camera at the reception and they won’t take your money.
We had a night flight, and we arrived at the hotel at 8-00, but in spite of the settlement promised by the travel agency earlier, we got into the room only at 10-40 - it was cleaned
. Before that, we managed to have breakfast, swim in the ocean and get pretty smeared in fuel oil on the beach.
The staff in the restaurant - Chinese, housekeeping - Indians. Everyone speaks English, at least a little. Rooms are cleaned 2 times a day - in the morning somewhere from 11 to 13-00, and for some reason in the evening a cart with an Indian arrives at about 18-00 and he asks what needs to be changed. Everything would be fine, but the Chinese man in charge of the mini-bar was very tense. He came to the room every day during the day and even opened the door with his card when we did not want to let him in. All the time he asked if we need to add something to the mini-bar. Constantly putting up a “Do Not Disturb” sign and locking the door from the inside helped. By the way at the reception, you can ask for the minibar to be removed altogether.
Telephone communications.
Your best bet is to buy a local sim card at a supermarket in Dadna for $15 since MTS rates in the UAE are $4/min.
The host.
The Royal park company worked very well - they made a good transfer, both to the hotel (there were 6 of us in the mini bus) and the night transfer 2-00 - 4-00 to Dubai, this time the mini bus took the two of us. When meeting tourists at the airport upon arrival, a representative of the company presented all the women with a rose, and this set a positive mood for the whole holiday.
Tours.

The guide from the company Royal park Aida Usmanova spoke in great detail about the hotel and the excursions. But it turned out that now the tour to Dubai by the company is carried out not from 9-00 to 21-00, but from 13-30 to 1-30. This tour costs $110/person. and allows you to see both day and night Dubai. We didn't like it. In addition, this tour takes only 6 hours for the whole of Dubai, i. e. you can only see: the Sheikh's Palace, the Jumeirah Mosque, the Burj Al Arab Hotel, the Palm Island with the Atlantis water park, the embankment, and the Dubai Mall complex. We decided that this was not enough and went to Dubai on our own in a minivan.
The prices for a trip to Dubai from taxi drivers who stand in the hotel's driveway are as follows:
Car for 4 tourists Dubai 10 hours - $150, Dubai 12 hours - $170
Minivan for 6 tourists: 10 hours 170 USD; , 12 hours - $200
We went six of us, and for 14 hours (we paid the taxi driver another $ 20 per hour) and in addition to the promised guide, we also saw the Dubai Creek (Scream), moved through it on a wooden boat to the Bur Dubai market, visited the museum in Al-Fahidi Fort, and also examined the old district of Bastakiya. And then they also swam in the Persian Gulf - the water there is saltier than in the ocean, and has a beautiful emerald azure color, and the water in the Indian Ocean resembles the Black Sea in color, although it is saltier.
The only thing you didn't have to do was stay in Dubai Mall for 3 hours. There are crowds of people, screaming, noise and very high prices (in the Lu-lu supermarket (Dibba), 25 km from the hotel, prices for manufactured goods are much lower): 0.5 liters of water costs $ 2.5, a cup of tea - $ 3.
I was also surprised by the weak assortment of goods in electronics stores.
In addition, on Saturday 5.11. 11 the price for climbing to the observation deck of Burj Dubai suddenly rose to 400 dirhams ($110) per person - this is a clear robbery, and we did not go up there. At the same time, tickets for the next day cost 100 dirhams ($27).
In Dubai Mole, in fact, you can see only two things: the oceanarium (100 dirhams) and singing fountains for free, which turn on at 18-30.19-00.19-30, etc. for about 3 minutes. Unlike fountains in Prague or Hurghada, Dubai fountains are not multi-colored.
The Royal park guide also offered a fishing trip to Masandam Island in Oman (crossing the border is free and takes 3-7 minutes). The tour is made on a small open wooden ship that can accommodate 30-40 people. with two open decks (we saw these boats when we went to Oman on our own). We did not go on this excursion, but those who did were completely delighted.

Weather.
The climate in Fujairah is more humid than in Egypt, reminiscent of Yalta or Alushta in the summer - after sunset it is stuffy without wind. It soared several times during the day, but the rain promised by weather sites did not come. People vacationing in Rotana have already said 5 times that it rained last week and now it won't start in less than 10 days.
The water temperature fluctuated in the range of 28-29.3 degrees. (it got a little cold after a small storm, but then warmed up again). Air in the morning and afternoon - 28-31 degrees. , at night - 26-27 degrees.
In general, the water in the sea is clear and the bottom is clearly visible even at the buoys (depth is about 3 m).

Hotel Fujairah Rotana is positioned as 5 *, in reality it is a solid 4 * (small area, bad pool, no animation, etc. ). In general, we really liked the rest, and if we are calm about the need to constantly clean ourselves of fuel oil, then relaxing in Fujairah on the Indian Ocean is very good.
