My review is for parents. planning a vacation with children. This was the first trip with a child (4 years old), before that we went to Austria more than once to ride without children. Mayrhofen was chosen because of the children's school there with a Russian escort from the Sun Rise tour. We stayed at the Berghof 4 * hotel. The hotel itself is not bad, the food is very good, the location is average, close to the railway station, far from the lifts on foot, you need to get on the ski bass. The hotel is not for families with children. There is no pool, children are not allowed to enter the sauna and jacuzzi area. This zone is visited by almost only men (90%), the jacuzzi is also considered a naked zone, and when you see how 10 men are packed there, a big question is raised in terms of hygiene. Therefore, everyone had to go to the pool with a child, which is very inconvenient, because the pool is not located close. The main contingent of tourists is 40 and older. There is a children's room, but it is in the basement and has always been empty. In general, it is better not to come here with children, without children it is quite a decent hotel. When planning the trip, children's ski schools were of most interest. There are 2 of them in Mayrhofen. One is Mayrhofen 3000, which is based at Ahorn, the other is based at Penken. We wanted Russian children in the group and a Russian-speaking guide (lunch, organizational issues), so we went to Mayrhofen 3000 from the Sun Rise tour. They have another additional service: you can transfer the child in the morning directly to the Sun Rise office (it is conveniently located, not far from the Penken lift, and in the evening pick up either at 15.30 from Ahorn, or again at the Sun Rise office until 18.00 (this is costs 5 Euro. ) This is especially convenient if you plan a trip to other ski areas - Zell am Ziller or to the glacier. Otherwise, it seemed to us that the school on Penken is more conveniently located, working from 9.00 to 16.00 and a little better Therefore, if you do not need to leave the child after 16.00, and do not care if there will be Russian children (instructors in all schools are Austrians), then I would choose a school on Penken, although it is more expensive by 15-20 Euros (taking into account the discount from Sun Rise (5%) or Ras tour (10%) On the very first day, the child began to ride along the red slopes, and a week later, along the crossroads among the fir trees and jumping from a small springboard. Now we understand that the slides in Finland will be too small. And from an adult point of view, we did not like Mayrhofen, so if you choose that region, then I would stay in Zell am Ziller. There, the tracks are longer and aprè s skis are more incendiary in the open air, you don’t have to choke indoors. Most of all I didn’t like that there are no trails from Penken to the foot of the mountain, you need to go down the lift, the trails are much shorter, compared to, for example, Kitzbü hel (we really liked it there), and there are more people on the slopes than calculated for Togo and you look that you will run into someone. In short, my next choice would be Zell am Ziller. And with a child, you need to settle either in a hotel with a pool, or in a simple hotel or apartment, but very close to the pool, there is a sauna and pools with hydromassage and all this is 13 Euro / person from 18.00 to 21.00. And overpay for 4 * is not necessary, especially when you do not use all the services of the hotel. I hope my review is helpful.
