Good day to you gentlemen readers,

So I decided to write a review about Baku, suddenly it will help someone. On duty, I had to go to Baku, Azerbaijan. After the New Year, I wanted to relax, but no! They decided to send me, honestly didn’t want to at all, you never know, you see these people here in Moscow, and you can imagine going to them. Well, I bought tickets for Azal (local airlines), not Tushka, but Boeing service, nothing tolerable, booked an apartment for several days, packed my bags and left for the airport. We arrived in Baku late at night, I was met by a driver in a company car, where I rented a daily apartment. The driver was talking animatedly about the new autobahn from the Airport to the city, and all this happened at a speed of 180-190 km/h. I asked to slow down, he politely apologized, and lowered it to 150, I was already thinking about the shower in the apartment. The apartment turned out to be nothing, small, but very cozy near the center 10-15 minutes from the center, with the Internet, the city is small compared to Moscow, but very cozy. People are just politeness itself, especially if they find out that you are a visitor. Almost all young people speak Russian, some quoted Gogol, Dostoevsky, Yesenin, Blok, I was already ashamed. I learned all this while drinking tea (very tasty tea is served in teapots) on the Fountain Square. People do everything slowly in the south, even late for work slowly. Metro so-so, more than 20 stations, was only one. Pedestrians and motorists absolutely do not know what traffic rules are, carefully cross the street, they can easily knock down, although the locals cross so recklessly (probably got the hang of it : )) They say they can shout loudly throughout the street. But they are very friendly, somehow I couldn’t sleep, I went out to the balcony to smoke, at 12 o’clock at night, the weather was super 10-12 degrees Celsius, I see people sitting in the yard playing backgammon, some shops work until the morning. Crime is zero, cars are not stolen at all, all these are the charms of a police state. You can walk at least at 3 o'clock in the morning, no one will ever dare to attack you even in the dark streets (there is practically no lighting in the city). The kitchen is awesome, everything is fresh, the lamb (I have never eaten it) is just super, the super combination of herbs and spices, the salads are fresh, the tandir bread in the morning with feta cheese with butter is bliss. Quite an expensive city, a taxi within the city $ 10-40 to the airport asked $ 60, the average bill in a restaurant is $ 50 per person, everything else is acceptable apartments are rented almost the same as in Moscow, but fully furnished. In general, if you need to fly to Baku, do not worry at all, the most hospitable people will meet you there. I really liked it.
