Definitely the euro is better. It is possible and dollars, but the exchange rate is unfavorable.

What about a plastic card?

They do, but not everywhere. Depending on where you want to use. We never used it there. We prefer cash.

We took euros, we had a UniCredit Bank card with us, there is a branch of this bank and you can withdraw money without interest.

Feel free to take a Visa card of any bank. It's better if it has euros, but if another currency - it doesn't matter, lev will be automatically removed. We travel by car from Moscow and pay only by card along the entire route and in Bulgaria.

I would not say that the exchange rate is unfavorable for dollars ... Euro - 1.94-1.95 leva, dollar - approximately 1.54 ... The euro exchange rate has been practically at the same level for 5 years, the dollar has been growing ... Why there, then take it! I would not recommend buying any currency specifically.

Traveling with a card is definitely more convenient and safer. It's just that we're stuck in the stone age with our cash, and the whole world prefers plastic.

Do not pay by card at the malls. And Bulgaria is not such a civilized country. Need one or the other.

Dear Poolechka! In all shops, restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets - yes, only a card! Well, for the market in Kableshkov - you can always find a couple of hundred leva...

alenovichkov. Thanks for the advice, but I don’t know what the market in Kableshkov is, you can see we go to different places. And what is "to find a couple of hundred leva" and where? And for excursions on which we do not save, how to pay with a card? Perhaps you wanted to offend me. But I know Bulgaria very well, we travel for many years 2 times a summer and I know where the card is needed and where not. I express my opinion to the one who asks, and you express yours. This is fine.

Please forgive me, but I didn't mean to offend anyone! It's just that my family and I have also been relaxing in Ravda for many years and in the early years we took different currencies with us (euro, dollars, hryvnias and levs). Then, as they began to drive from Moscow, they began to use the Visa card everywhere, except for the "flea" market in Kobleshkov (between Ravda and Burgas), where you can buy everything and at a very cheap price. The market is open on Thursdays and there are buses from Burgas, Nessebar, SB and Ravda. There are very cheap shoes, fabrics, agricultural products.

Everything is fine. But we do not use the market. And shopping arcades are a completely different thing. In large resorts (I love St. Constantine in the north, and in the south in Sunny Beach), entrepreneurs from all over the area bring goods that they take from the same warehouses as large supermarkets. A bit more expensive, but everything is in one place. We always take very high-quality women's shoes from the CARIOCA company, leather inside and out, very comfortable for relaxing, such as clogs or sandals, many models, they cost from 40 to 50 lev. And she has no demolition. We take creams, Bulgarian swimwear and swimming trunks, my son really likes them. And, of course, leisure pants, fashionable. We have a lot of good things in Minsk, but for a seaside holiday the assortment is small. And from large stores, we prefer the Mall in Dobrich. There are fewer tourists and therefore more choice. And cheaper than resorts. In August we are going to Bulgaria and have already taken the mood to rest. And have a nice holiday.
