Are the beaches in Sozopol paid? About exchangers.
We are going at the end of August. Now my mother is in Nessebar. I called and said that all the beaches there are paid, 7 leva. It's almost 4 euros. To be honest, this does not fit into any framework, given that we can visit various beaches several times a day. So the question is: is this true and how relevant is this information to Sozopol?
I will be extremely grateful for the answers!
P.S. Where is it better to exchange euros for levs and what are the nuances?

Your mother informed you incorrectly. Access to all beaches in Bulgaria is free and free, BUT you have to pay for sunbeds and an umbrella, because all beaches are concessed by local communities to private companies. You can lie in the free zone on your bedding and your umbrella for free
You can change currency everywhere, they don’t take any commission, but the exchange rate can be lower than the bank rate (1 euro-1.95 lev) Banks change the amount of at least 50 dollars or euros, while you need to have a passport or rights.

Thanks a lot!
True, I want to note that you are the first one who noted that there is no commission - in all the reviews they just warn that not everything is so simple and smooth. Therefore, this question arose.
And secondly, can there be a situation that the beach is free, but the entrance is only with the obligatory rental of a sunbed? :)

There is no commission anywhere, only in Sozopol the exchange rate is basically 1.93 for the euro now, and in Burgas 1.95. On the beaches, there can be no conditions for obligatory sunbeds anywhere. The beaches and the sea in Bulgaria belong to the state, which means that access to them cannot be paid

There are two beaches in Sozopol - municipal and Harmani, the entrance to which is absolutely free, but if you want you can pay for renting a sunbed and an umbrella :))

Thank you all very much for your replies! =)

On account of the fact that the bank requires a passport or other documents when exchanging currency - complete nonsense! You will simply be asked to give your first and last name! Previously, they still asked for the country of residence, but now they don’t. The procedure at the bank is a little longer than the exchanger, but the exchange rate is higher...
Now about the beaches. In fact, there are 3 beaches in Sozopol - city, Harmani and Mednia (in the old town). All of them are municipal! And free! You only have to pay for sun loungers, a place under an umbrella, etc.
By the way, a place under an umbrella costs 5 leva per day. You can buy a beach umbrella and then use it for many years for only 10 leva. Here's what's better...

Dreddy, thank you very much for the information! To be honest, I heard everything I wanted to hear :-)
By the way, which beach would you like to highlight? What about diving? - is there a reason? By the way, is it possible to swim from the side of the "rocks"? I am a big diver..

I didn’t hear anything about Medinia, but it’s quite good on the city beach, it’s clean, it’s cleaned every day, the water is excellent, although a few days before departure, algae nailed and we moved to Harmani, where it’s also normal, but there are more people both in the water and around , and it’s even more dirty, garbage, cigarette butts all around, well, but the sea is still clean there too. Familiar diving enthusiasts said that they swam everywhere, saw a lot of shrimps, mussels, a couple of crabs ...

Where is the best place to go scuba diving?
аватар gatta77
was not interested, but I saw people in masks on the city street when I went to the rocks

Are there many people on the rocky beach?
аватар gatta77
Rocks away from the beach, on the right, two fishermen were sitting on them, and there was a boy in the water in an ordinary mask and someone else nearby, sometimes I saw people swimming underwater away from the coast, you can rent a catamaran, a scooter, diving equipment, too , prices hang on the beach. And I also saw surfers, the waves are cool there !!!

Now I'm looking forward to the trip even more!
