We are going to Bulgaria at the end of May for the first time. Tell me, what excursions are interesting? And tell us more about the features of holidays in Bulgaria on "all inclusive".

I do not advise you to go to the "Bulgarian Village" .... Absolutely banal event ... Drinking and grub .......
We went by bus to Varna without excursions. I like it.

We were in August 2011. I do not advise the dirty sea, the weather was not very rainy for several days, the food is delicious people people people. We won’t eat anymore.

* I advise you to visit an excursion to Istanbul, preferably a 2-day one. You can drive closer to Nessebar and Sozopol - beautiful old towns.

If you go from Ukraine, I certainly don’t advise you to Istanbul, because the road to Bulgaria has already tortured me terribly! If this doesn’t scare you, then it’s cool in Istanbul, but they try to cheat on every corner, so we don’t recommend traveling on your own either! And of course to Varna, Nessebar, Sozopol!

Thank you! And another question, is it possible to buy a map and a guide to Bulgaria in Russian in the RFP? And is it better to take excursions from a tour operator, from a local company, or is it better to take it on your own in a rented car?

We didn’t see the maps for sale for sure, but excursions should definitely not be taken from tour operators - almost 1.5-2 times more expensive, but we took them from guides on the embankment. There are many of them who speak Russian and are even collected by Russian groups, the prices are much lower and they can still do discounts. And about excursions, check with local guides there! You can also rent a car, but their gasoline is very expensive, if possible, better to go with a tour. And go to Varna by bus, take a walk, it's very close!

For lovers of natural beauties - CAPE KALIAKRA!!! Just keep in mind that it is very windy and very beautiful there :))))
And to Balchik, to the Botanical Garden, it’s better to go on your own, without a guide. Read information on the Internet .. and enjoy the beauty of the park. )) But it is beautiful only until the July heat.

This time we were with small children. we went on our own (by bus 109 - 1.60 lev per person) to the neighboring resort of St. Helena and Constantine. We visited the monastery of the same name - we got to the end of the service. We took holy water in bottles (the holy spring is right under the altar!), We bought icons. it is a famous place of pilgrimage. In the church of the monastery, particles of famous relics9 of the relics of St. Valentine, particles of the life-giving Cross, etc.). and the monastery itself is very colorful - in the nat. Bulgarian style. We had lunch next to each other in a cafe and crossed the road through an underground passage and ended up in an eco-park. liked the rose garden. many people go to the park for picnics, many celebrate children's birthdays. picnic places can be ordered in advance (they are equipped) entrance, if I'm not mistaken - 2 levs for adults and 1 lion for a child. It turned out to be a wonderful trip! It was still possible to go to the pool with thermal water at 38-40 degrees at the resort. Paid entrance. But our kids couldn’t stand such a long excursion :)))) And they also took our four-year-old daughter to the zoo in Varna (price n. We got on a train (1 lev per person) and drove through the Primorsky Park to the amusement park. My daughter was delighted with such a half-day excursion !!! these are her best impressions from Bulgaria
