Great place to stay
Advantages:
Not very expensive and friendly to Russian tourists country. Good sea and beaches.
Cons:
Little vegetation, too hot, not many attractions
The Paphos region is good with a pleasant microclimate, which is formed due to the fact that the region is surrounded by the Troodos Mountains and the hotels are located on the rocks. Even in the hottest heat +35 is not felt. The sea is very clean and just like in the pictures azure. The inhabitants of Paphos are very nice people, but it seemed to me that there are a minimum of indigenous Cypriots in Paphos.
1. If you are going there with cash, then take care of exchanging banknotes for small ones. All the same, this is a modern country and bank cards are in use. But since the tours require cash, we had to spend 30 euros on a taxi to the bank to change money there for smaller ones.
2. In Paphos, although not numerous (by the number of routes), but good and frequent public transport from 2-2.5 euros, the ticket is valid for an hour. Rent a car is different: for an old Citroen 35 euros per day + insurance + deposit. The cheapest is to rent a car in Paphos itself, at the hotel and in the travel agency it is very expensive.
3. About restaurants and food. As in any country, restaurants are divided into "for locals" and "for tourists". So in Cyprus you need to look for restaurants for the British. We found such a Restaurant snack bar Saint Georgio. The prices there are certainly high, but the food is very tasty - for two from 40 euros if you take a complete set: salad, main course, drinks, dessert. There is both local cuisine and European.
