Rested from July 24 to August 2, two adults and a baby of 4 years. Going on vacation, I read a lot of reviews about hotels in Cyprus. BEACH. To the beach 10 minutes with the steps of a 4-year-old child. Umbrellas and deck chairs are all paid for 2.5e. In the photographs - these are blue umbrellas. They write out a check with the number of an umbrella and a sun lounger, and it's yours for the whole day. You can come and go. Many bought an umbrella in the store, and one Russian girl ran along the beach with the words “Who can I sell a cheap umbrella to? ” Everything that is written about the sea is true. The sea is wonderful! Warm, clean, transparent. Salty-presalted. There were very few stones on our beach. Depth - 5 meters to the knee, another 5 meters to the waist, then deeper. Very comfortable with kids. Russian is heard everywhere on the beach, but English is near the pool. It is very interesting to watch the Cypriots at the weekend. They meet with relatives and friends on the beach. Everyone brings their own high chairs or deckchairs, umbrellas and plastic fridge boxes with big sandwiches wrapped in foil and lots of french fries. By the way, potatoes give birth 4 times a year and they put it in any dish that you would not order, instead of bread.
NUTRITION. The price included only breakfast and dinner. For breakfast there were: bacon, fried and boiled sausages, eggs of all kinds: scrambled, boiled, fried, stuffed scrambled eggs. Muesli 5 kinds, chopped vegetables, delicious yogurt 3 kinds and jam Lots of cheese and ham. And so every day. But dinner is soup, pork, beef, poultry. casseroles, cakes. Shrimp salads, avocados, vegetable salads. You can choose for every taste, everything is very tasty cooked. We went to the tavern for lunch - from the main exit from the hotel to the right 20 steps to MR COD. Lunch consists of salad, soup, fried potatoes, fish or chicken. The cost is 7 or 9e per person. Our baby received ice cream as a gift for a clean plate, and on the third day he also received a cap. Even if we walked by, the owner came out to say hello. Everything is always fresh and tasty. If you go to the beach on the left side of the pool, there is a cafe before the pedestrian crossing. There we ate the famous meze for 14.95e. One portion for two is not allowed to order. We took fish and meat. First they brought 10 bowls with different sauces - we liked the "taramasalata" - pink. Then they bought it at LIDL for 1.69 e. Then they brought certain types of fish and meat on a plate. It's impossible to eat everything. Drinks are paid everywhere (a glass of sprite 1.7e). We bought water at LIDL - an ordinary supermarket at 1.69 for 6 and a half, but did not find carbonated water.
EXCURSIONS: We bought a trip to the monastery of Kykkos not far from McDonald's with a Russian-speaking guide - there is the famous icon of the Virgin, painted during her lifetime by St. Luke. The cost is 35E, the tour operator had excursions more expensive. On the way, we stopped in the town of Lefkara with shops selling silverware and the famous lace napkins. But they brought me to a stand-alone store, treated me to wine and water, and offered to buy. Everything was too expensive in my opinion. Then we stopped at a private winery. They tasted 7 kinds of wines and yawning (grape moonshine) and those who wished to buy wine. Those who took more than 3 bottles also received wine as a gift. Finally we got to the monastery. They immediately led me to a souvenir shop - they gave out a printed prayer and treated me with wine. The shop told a little about the icons and offered to buy them. The cheapest icons 5*7 cm in size cost 4-5E and lie on the lowest shelves, a little more than 15-25E, a wooden cross on a black thread 5E. Then they went to the temple and venerated the Icon. It is not customary to put candles, you can write notes for health and peace, a headdress for women is not mandatory, the main thing for everyone is closed shoulders and knees. The temple is beautiful, expensive decoration, the room where the relics of the saints are stored is lined with silver caskets of beautiful decoration. We drove back through the capital Lefkosia. Yes, in the shops near the monastery the cheapest Cypriot sweets - marmalade or Turkish delight in powdered sugar or coconut crumbs - such six-sided boxes - three pieces for 3.5E. In Protaras 1pc -1.45E. Lots of different sweets, nuts, jams. We traveled in a large comfortable bus with air conditioning, there were many free seats, the mountain road was not difficult.
Every day (except Sunday) 4 boats depart from the pier at 11 o'clock for a boat trip - Aphrodite, Dolphin, Coca-Cola and another small boat. Tickets: adult 10E, children - free on Kolya. Buy at the pier. All sellers assure about the Russian-speaking guide. Treat - a glass of wine or cola. A walk along the coast, first towards Famagusta, where 350 hotels are empty, and then to Cape Greco with a swim in the Blue Lagoon 6m deep. On the way back, a treat with a piece of melon on a skewer. The walk is not tiring and takes 2 hours.
We visited the Show of dancing fountains. A beautiful sight. Even our baby shouted "bravo". Tickets were taken for two days without food. The price for an adult is 26E, for a child - 15E. With food 45E. If you buy with food, you can book a table, and if without food, you need to come 1.5-2. hours in advance.
Themselves on the 101 bus went to Paralimni. Very tangled streets, shops open until 19. Boring.
SOUVENIRS: there are gifts for every taste. There are a lot of beautiful travel suitcases (10.5 Oe for children, 25 Oe for adults), Olive oil (4.49), vacuum-packed olives (2.65), yawning (0.3l for 3.19 Oe). We bought from LIDL. Near McDonald's. there is a shop "Cyprus products" there are very nice kitchen towels with a map of Cyprus for only 0.5E per piece. Soap (0.99), magnets, T-shirts - all this on the only main street. You go out in the evening - a bar, a shop, a restaurant, and again everything repeats. Prices for wines are different, as there are many private wineries and one state-owned. Each has its own price. NATURE: near the hotels there are many flowers, green grass, fig trees. The roads are all good, drivers do not drive fast, pedestrians are allowed everywhere. Hotels are not fenced. You can go to any hotel and swim in the pool. The local people are very friendly, smiling. There is always a light breeze on the island, there is not much humidity.
DEPARTURE: we were picked up from the hotel on time, at Larnaca airport we quickly cleared customs. They flew well. Arrived in Kyiv and began. Waited over an hour for luggage. The luggage was unloaded onto a different tape, and not the one indicated on the board, the suitcase was wrapped in a film, it was all unwound. It left a very bad aftertaste.
