For the first time we were in Cyprus and in this hotel, respectively.
I will say right away - the hotel was pleasantly surprised, new, strong. I liked the rest in general.
For those who are interested, read my story for more details.
The flight is quite tireless, scheduled by Aeroflot, the only minus is that it is very early, the departure is at 6 in the morning, we hardly slept at night, we were boiled all day. But we flew to Cyprus early, so the whole day was ours. Taking a nap on an airplane is also unrealistic - a lot of flying with children, noise and noise, and the flight is fast, only 3 hours and you are there.

At the airport, everything went quickly, showed the provisions - they put a stamp in the passport, the luggage was already leaving the tape, we quickly got out, took the buses and drove off. Everything is clearly organized. Drive to the resort for about forty minutes, with stops at bigger hotels. The views along the way were not very impressive. Scorched fields, a minimum of greenery. At first they were upset.
Protaras is a young resort, somewhat on the outskirts of Cyprus, after it there is only Turkish territory. A ten-minute drive away is the famous Ayia Napa, where we once went by taxi for a walk in the evening. In fact, we had almost the same thing. Walking street with restaurants, shops, where in the evening all the tourists wandered back and forth. But in this Ayia Napa there were no dancing fountains. A pleasure that I advise you not to miss! Inexpensive, but beautiful and impressive. Of the sights in Protaras, there is a church on the mountain. And that's it. Friends went to the dolphinarium, returned without much enthusiasm, so we decided not to go there.
We went on a Grand Tour excursion to the mountains with a visit to the Kykkos monastery. It's not to be missed! A miraculous icon, wonderful views, greenery, even pine trees, coolness - Cyprus, it can be completely different. Too bad it's only so far away. The tour is very interesting, but quite tiring. There is a small serpentine in the mountains. In short, we didn't go anywhere else.
The main purpose of the trip is the sea, air, sun. This is in order! There is a lot of sun, even too much. The sea is magical. Very warm, salty, clean. Excellent sea. The sand is pleasant and light. Only here are the municipal beaches, you take a sunbed and an umbrella - pay. The same sunbeds and umbrella on site - free of charge. The territories are not very large, it is not like in Turkey or Egypt. Everything is close, all hotels are next to each other.

Food is also not like in Turkey. There were no strings of all kinds of dishes. The Turks spoiled us. By Turkish standards, food in Cyprus is quite modest. But everything is delicious and fresh. Breakfasts are standard, tea-coffee-juice is free, water-wine is already paid for dinner. We bought wine in the supermarket and "caught up" in the room on the balcony. I recommend: "Saint Panteleimon" and "Cisbi" are white semi-sweet, from red I liked "Othello", dry wine. In general, wines in Cyprus are pleasant. We also bought a local liqueur "Commandaria" - did not like it, sickly sweet. The local beer "Keo" is also very worthy. A couple of times we skipped dinner and went to a tavern for Greek cuisine. Portions are huge. And their meze is generally something that is impossible to eat. Carry, carry and carry. you can no longer - and they carry everything! We also liked frappe here - this is such a cold coffee with ice. Refreshing in the heat.
There are a lot of Russians in the hotel, in Protaras and in Cyprus. Probably more than even the British, the former "owners" of the island. The menu is in Russian everywhere, Russian restaurants with borscht and dumplings, fur coats, apartments, real estate. What is not here. Many of ours work in the hotel, as well as fellow Slavs - Poles, Czechs, Slovaks.
Our hotel was in the center of the resort. This is both a plus and a minus. Plus - everything is nearby, you seem to be in the thick of things all the time. Only now, closer to the night, this thickness begins to interfere - it was quite noisy.
During the two weeks of stay, the weather was good all the time, the sun every day. It's hot, but there are air conditioners everywhere. I can’t even believe that it rains here, and there is snow in the mountains. The sun was constantly shining. So there is no tricks with the weather!
I hope my story will help someone with a choice.
Have a good rest and great impressions!
