Prague in December
My husband and I want to go to Prague on our own in mid-December, I want to see Christmas Europe. Or better advise to go on New Year's Eve. What is the weather like in December, is it snowy or rainy? Will 5-7 days be enough? I understand that we will not visit parks and observation platforms))). What nearby cities do you recommend to see in order to go for the whole day without spending the night?

We were on our Christmas! It was very pleasant when, especially for the Russians, the clock on the Old Town Tower struck an encore. The weather was for all tastes: a little snow, sunshine, rain. But we visited the zoo, went to Karlovy Vary for the whole day, climbed the towers (there are no centralized tours) on the Old Town Square and the Wenceslas Bridge.
Once we were in early December and it was minus 8. Very uncomfortable to walk - cold and windy. Walks were made with stops in a cafe to drink a glass of coffee and a cup of Becherevka. But, in general, Prague fascinates, and makes you come back at any time of the year. We have been four times so far, but this is not the limit.

Ride-ride! And by all means for the Catholic Christmas! And certainly in boots with thick soles and waterproof clothing! - snow happens in November, but mostly rain and sleet with wind around zero. And find the opportunity to go to Nuremberg (just over 200 km) - this city is not called the Christmas Capital of Europe for nothing! Dresden will also turn around in a day! Only, now, do you want to leave Christmas Prague? Incredibly good! Just a holiday in the air! Good luck and joy!

---Will 5-7 days be enough.---
I was in Prague this spring - I just fell in love with her!
as for me 5-7 days is sooo short (((
take more days if possible
From the excursions I really liked: castles, Cesky Krumlov, Dresden, Vienna
and in general, just walking and wandering around Prague is a huge pleasure

Prague is beautiful absolutely any day of the year. But keep in mind that on Catholic Christmas most shops, bars, restaurants are closed, the city is empty, the Czechs celebrate the holiday in a family setting. And the New Year - on the contrary, is celebrated very cheerfully, on the streets there are crowds of people, salutes, fireworks and so on.
