NIGHT CLUBS IN PLATANIAS, CHANIA, CRETE.

We lived in the Asterion Beach 5-star hotel in the village of Pyrgos near Platanias - and we also went here to dance in clubs and take a walk along the evening streets.

Nightlife here starts around 12 midnight. Since we preferred to travel by bus, we were usually at the Pyrgos stop by 22:00 and left on one of the last buses that go to Chania via Platanias.

And if you are tired of waiting, you can slow down a passing taxi driver and for 5 Euros with music and a breeze, drive straight to the desired institution in 5 minutes.

At the stop "Center Platanias" in fact, everything we need. This is the center of the town, where many dance clubs, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, taverns are concentrated on a small penny.

Numerous shops for tourists are open until almost 12 at night - olive oil, washcloths, soap, Metaxa, magnets, tons of silver and gold, clothes and hats - in general, everything you want!

On our first trip to the city, we visited several establishments to sample.

Each establishment in the resort area has its own barker manager, who in an amazing way makes it so that after a minute of a playful conversation, having answered the questions “what is your name, where are you from and what do you do”, you are already sitting in his bar and savoring a free cocktail or a shot of raki .

In any case, this was the case with us in every institution, and then in a friendly way and every evening in Platanias. In general, the staff of the establishments are often included in the general party - they dance and communicate with the guests. There are no brakes, no stiffness - a celebration of life every evening!

And the very first entertainment place we were taken to (and later on the most beloved and visited daily) was the SPLENDID café , cocktail & dancing bar.

Excellent active staff, music - pop hits, under which it is simply impossible not to dance. The bartenders in the dance zone tap the ruhrs with sticks, blow or set fire to sparklers.

And if you need a break, you can leave the dance zone in the open part of the institution, where you can relax in the fresh air and on comfortable sofas and chat with young people from all over the world. There is also a large bar here. We once watched as an American boy of 19 years old broke the record for shots. And then they saw him dancing in 2 more clubs until the morning - the Mediterranean air forgives everything.

In general, everything in these Cretan towns is conducive to communication, contacts are made on the fly, and conversations quickly turn into a discussion of the Greek economy, the crisis, travel around Europe, etc.

On one of the weekdays, we arrived quite early and got to karaoke.

As soon as the Greek who led the process found out that we were from Ukraine, a minute later they gave us a drive - Kalinka-Malinka-Katyusha-Sirduchka with “lasha tumbai”. Apparently for each country he has a set of famous songsJ.

Thank you for all 6 nights we spent in Splendid. Super!

Across the street from it is a small club with great Latin American and pop music. When the people are ready to dance, they close the glass walls and turn on the air conditioners - it's really hot to the latina. As soon as we managed to go in and take a bottle, a young dark-haired man took me to pachata and salsa. And on their open veranda it’s great to relax on Platanias at night, which until the morning shines with the lights of bars and bikers dangling back and forth.

After 10 steps to the right is Eclipse Bar Platanias. A small room with excellent air conditioning, a brightly lit bar counter, stylish design and a very interesting manager - we talked at a table on the street for about an hour, got a lot of interesting information about modern Greece, their worldview.

The people are incredibly sociable, they know how to satisfy the needs of tourists and know how to work and have fun at the same time. The Greeks, it must be said, speak excellent English - very understandable to a Russian-speaking person. In the evening, while vacationers are just going to the disco, they watch hockey matches in Eclipse.

You can't ask a Greek for coffee at night! Thanks to our sociability, everyone in the neighborhood already knew us - and only for this reason the owner of one of the bars somehow ordered us to make coffee at 3 o'clock in the morningJ.

We simply did not get to other clubs and discos in the village of Platanias. If there is a next time, I will definitely go to the Tropicana.

From the village of Platanias to the hotels of the village of Pyrgos you will take a taxi for 10 Euros ....well, or, you know, on a bike or car with a sober driver (only you are unlikely to find this in a nightly tourist drunk resort Cretan village or city)

In general, I am for sports without alcohol : )

The rest of my trip to Crete 2013 is in LiveJournal.
