I agree with drkatherine. The most interesting thing can be seen by renting a car. Traveling around Greece is easy and safe, parking in cities is mostly free. All beaches in Sithonia are also free and the views are breathtaking. But it may be worth going to Meteora with Mouzenidis, because. on your own you will only see the monasteries, but you will not learn anything about them. But that’s not even the point: at least even about the same Meteora, which we successfully went to on our own and ended up in all SIX monasteries that have survived to this day (unlike the excursion, which brings only ONE !!!). I agree, we had to read something that, clearly, cannot be compared with the stories of the guides, I will not even argue with that. So everything has its pros and cons. . . As for accidents with "OUR RELATIVE" tourists: thank God, we did not meet a single one on the way (I repeat, we dashed off 1600 km), and we ourselves, again, thank God, are safe. You don’t need to treat everyone with the same brush, you need to approach this matter responsibly: get international driving license (which you advised us to do before the trip), think over the route, consult with knowledgeable people.
