We started our acquaintance with Croatia from the north, we dreamed of getting a car on our own, but problems with a multi-visa made adjustments, so we went through a travel agency. 3 adults, flight and accommodation for 7 nights without food cost 1500 euros. Hotel Horizon is located in the vicinity of Pula, the hotel area is large, there are two-story houses, there is a large building, we lived in a two-story building on the ground floor, a two-room suite, a kitchenette, a shower, a balcony, everything is clean, 100 meters from the sea, there is no beach as such, there are slopes down ladders into the water, we were all adults, so there were no problems with this, there was a market and a cafe nearby, in short, everything suited us with housing, except for Wi-Fi, it had to be caught near the reception, but this is the only thing I didn’t like, although this is also not a problem.

Now about Croatia.

We took a car, drove it to the airport, 40 euros, made the routes ourselves, bought a map and took the navigator with us, the navigator helped a lot, the roads are all of excellent quality, we drove along the autobahn a couple of times, it’s expensive and boring, I think that if you don’t go anywhere hurry up and not at night as we return home, then there is no point in using the autobahn.

The sea, it is crystal clear, made you want to drink it, the smell of watermelon, freshness, in Montenegro is also the Adriatic, but it is not like that in Montenegro, we swam in different places along the way, the temperature is different somewhere warmer somewhere colder, the color is different and the smell is very salty, and the fish are such a delight to feed the fish. What pleased me was the absence of Russian-speaking tourists, there were very few of them, and probably in connection with this, it was quiet, clean, calm.

In general, I noticed the absence of drunks, homeless people and beggars, the locals are very hospitable, hospitable, kind, they will offer you at least three languages for communication, and if you don’t speak any of the proposed ones, then they will also try to understand you in Russian or you are their Croatian, There are no problems with understanding if there is a desire.

Of course, we visited the lakes from Pula, where we lived 400 km, so we went with an overnight stay, rented a hotel for one night through booking for 30 euros, very cute, plan on the lakes that it will take you at least 6 hours, the route was chosen, beautifully very worth it to see it, visited Hum and Motovun, I liked Motovun very much, this is a city a fortress on a mountain, the views are amazing, there you can buy truffles or cheese with it and wine or just something to eat in a cafe with beautiful views, of course Rovinj is a must see it's all nearby , also nearby is the small town of Fazana with a good big beach, from Fazana you can take a big ship to the islands of Brijuni, with an excursion it will cost 200 kunas, which is somewhere around 30 euros. In general, Croatia struck with its diversity of species.

The gastronomic discovery for me was ajvar and truffle, I tried it for the first time, of course they brought home olive oil, excellent quality, homemade, bought from people in small markets along the road, Croatian wine was not impressed, and the beer is very cool local, but only sharpened (draft). In general, I recommend Croatia to everyone, if you have the opportunity to go on your own, then do not be afraid to go ahead, it is an absolutely safe country, very comfortable and beautiful, and if you are not a beach seal, then there is something to see and what to do.
