Recommend a resort
We are planning a vacation in Croatia in early September.
Young family, 2 people, 26 and 30 years old.
Cheerful, active. We want to travel a lot by car, see the sights. Recommend a resort please. In the evening we want to go to a restaurant, to a disco, to go to bars. And in the afternoon, by car, see some monuments, palaces, monasteries, and other interesting places.
There is an idea to spend 6 days in one place, and then for another 6 days to move somewhere else.
So far, the reviews liked Makarska. But maybe someone else can advise.
Thank you in advance.

An excellent choice of country for a versatile holiday! Take a closer look at the peninsula of Istria, specifically Rovinj and Porec, very old cities, this is a former Italian territory, I really liked it there. Well, on the other side is Dubrovnik, you should definitely visit it, we went there with pleasure for the 2nd time. Whatever part of Croatia you choose, there are many chic sights everywhere, and restaurants are always and everywhere. Have a great holiday and a lot of impressions!

you are unlikely to see Croatia at a time, so choose on the map which side you will start looking at and there already stop in one place, drive the rest of the places nearby - look.
We were on the left side of the map from Poreč to Pula - Opatija - Rijeka - New Vinodolsky.
The most beautiful places in this part of Croatia are Opatija (a city like Nice), it will stop there, we also really, really liked the resort of Zelena Laguna to stop near Porec, there are chic hotels like Parentium, and so there the most chic place is the peninsula (nature is precisely ) that I saw in Croatia. Also beautiful cities in this part are Poreč and Rovinj - where you should definitely call in, Pula also, there is nothing to do in Rijeka.

For the same, you can start your journey from the right side of the map of Croatia - Dubrovnik, Split, etc., Croatia is a little different there. There are a lot of sights there, but it seems to me that nature is still better on the left side - in Istria.

Croatia is good everywhere, no matter where you stay along the coast, everywhere is beautiful, cozy and interesting in its own way! For young people, some larger city like Dubrovnik, Split, Trogir, Zadar, etc. is more suitable. at the same time, if you are by car, you can rent a house nearby, which will cost much less and go to parties in the center in the evenings .... Have a good rest!

I would recommend the islands. Very beautiful. The roads from Split to Dubrovnik are mountainous and very difficult. My opinion is that it is dangerous to drive a car by yourself. It's better to take excursions. Very interesting. We also change resorts in one vacation. For Croatia I would recommend 6 days in Istria and 6 days in Makarska Riviera.
