bus in winter
It so happened that there is no experience of winter trips by bus. Say it's very cold when moving at night. We're not going far. To Hungary.

The bus is not cold. But there are features of trips in the winter. Less average speed. It gets dark early. There is a chance to get into bad weather (pah-pah) and stand on the track for a long time (Dnepr-Odessa-there were 10 hours of ice) - respectively: water, food, warm clothes.

I’ve been traveling at night for a long time, not only in winter, but in general, in principle, but from my memories - it’s absolutely not cold. But if the place is next to the door, then it’s not very comfortable at the stops, and a little chill was felt from the door. Noah always took a blanket if she went in winter. Oh comfortable!
and one more thing to the above features of winter crossings - everyone has an order of magnitude more clothes in winter, respectively, every time to get off at a bus stop - it was delayed .. because. until everyone gets dressed, etc. Well, when landing - the same story in the opposite direction .. time was lost decently :(

Meaning? It's easier to take a train to Chop and then cross 350 km to Budapest by bus. There are more than such tours.
You do not forget that you will go through the Carpathians .. by bus .. If the passes are closed, you will have to cuckoo for several days.
I don't like this idea..

Yes, we haven't chosen a tour yet. I cherish hope for the air. Yes, this is the first time we went to Hungary. But here, before Christmas, I also wanted to wander around Lviv.

Here, and if you didn’t choose, then even more so :-) Then there are buses from Lviv. Get to Lviv by train, take a walk there and then by bus. There should be no night shifts. Although .. Oh, how I do not advise night crossings, especially in winter :-(

I am calm about the night, but in the WINTER I have not tried it yet. Somehow it's scary.

I went on the Accord tour from 11/29/2011. We left Lviv at 20.00, we were in Budapest at 7.00 in the morning. The bus was not only not cold, but even hot))) Be sure to take something to change into the bus (I took light sneakers and a sweatshirt jacket put on a light golf), it was a pity to watch how people suffered in down jackets and boots ( The beginning of the 8th was already in the Széchenyi, so the fatigue vanished as if by magic)))

I am also with "Accord" for the New Year from Lvov. Budapest + Vienna. The road there seems very fast and not tiring + fast New Year's Eve customs clearance. The bus is not that cold-hot! And the climate in Hungary is very mild, like in the Crimea, so it is not necessary to wrap up. But in Széchenyi, there was a lack of a bigger towel or a sheet, from the pool where it was 20-30 to the locker room at -3, it was cold. Everything was great, but for myself I decided - never again on the bus !!!!

Yes, the climate reminded us of the Crimean one. Relatively warm, but rainy and damp. Rather, an umbrella or raincoat will not be superfluous. Also with the "Accord" went to Hungary in mid-December. There were no drifts in the Carpathians, thank God. The bus was warm and comfortable. The drivers are both pros. They took off their outerwear. But having a light blanket was very good.

If I'm not mistaken, it was the "Hungarian casket". Four days traveled around Hungary and one day in Vienna.
