We went on a sightseeing tour. Quite enough. They also go to the waterfalls in jeeps - this is if you want extreme sports.

To the waterfall, find out in advance. The amount of water depends on the time of year and weather conditions. Excursions in Goa have been written more than once. There are not so many of them. In my opinion, you should just ride along the coast and look at the various beaches. There are quite a lot of them and one is completely different from the other. The most interesting places outside the State. They require quite a lot of time, as well as money. The closest ones are Hampi and Murudeshwara in the neighboring state of Karnataka.

We went on a tour: "Old City-Waterfalls-Spice Farm". I liked it very much. Take bananas or a few oranges with you to feed the monkeys. Thrill-seekers still swim in the lake, but this is not for everyone, and there is not enough time for this. To visit the waterfalls give 1 hour. At the spice farm, a very interesting excursion, they give lunch and feni tasting.

The choice of excursions is not very large, and the prices (compared to Tai, for example) are quite high. "Old City-Waterfalls-Spice Farm". - an interesting program, I also had a Hindu temple included. I dare to recommend her.
Hampi was not. Well, and so - along the beaches of Goa by taxi or by bike. But I do not advise the bike - traffic, docks, etc.

Good excursion. Looks like they paid $60.

The most interesting excursion (not counting Agra) is Hampi for 2 days, but it is not cheap and quite a difficult road, although they are carried on comfortable off-road vehicles.

it’s cheaper to go on an excursion you like by yourself, by taxi .. we were taken by a taxi driver to the old capital and temples for 600-800 rubles, we drove there, waited while we walked there and brought back .. the guide asked for 7000 for the same

it’s difficult to go to Hampi by yourself - it’s very expensive by taxi - the one-way trip takes about 7 hours. There are craftsmen to ride a local bus with transfers, but you need to know where which bus goes + where the transfers + the bus takes even longer to travel + be prepared for the "conveniences" of traveling by Indian public transport. It’s hard to drive on a comfortable Toyota, and even on a bus - you have to be very economical or very easy to endure a long road with serpentine, so as not to spare yourself on vacation.
And on the beaches - yes, a taxi is cheaper and more convenient.
For sightseeing places - you can take a taxi, but the taxi driver will not be able to tell anything informative.

You can drive on your own. Those who are not the first time in India can use both buses and trains. But it has already been correctly said that one must be very unpretentious, as well as at least know something about the country, its traditions, culture, religion, and the mentality of the locals. The Taj Mahal certainly deserves attention. However, if we are talking about a short vacation only in Goa, then they will lie to Agra. Look at the distance on the map. This is probably how to come to see Moscow in Russia and at the same time look for a couple of hours, for example, in Krasnoyarsk. Although of course the plane and it's real.

I advise you to go on an excursion "all the most interesting things in Goa in 1 day" - waterfalls and monkeys + spice plantation + bathing with elephants + temples. The tour takes a whole day, but the impressions and emotions from it are just a sea. I advise the guide Marina Murger, google :) she is cheaper than tour operators.

If you don't visit Hampi, you won't see India. Love extreme sports, like us - go by bus, it's fun, jump all night on speed bumps, you can also go by jeep. But Hampi is everything! The waterfall and the monkeys are such a small thing compared to Hampi.

And further. All the beaches are very different. Together with the guys from our hotel, we went every day by taxi to different beaches for the whole day. It is inexpensive and interesting, inexpensive and delicious cafes are everywhere.
