Is it worth it to buy additional dinners on a tour of Italy?
I'm going to go on the "Classic Italy" tour with Artex94, they offer to pay for additional dinners, does this make sense? If anyone has been on this tour, please share your valuable experience.

I went on the "Classic Italy" tour, though not from Artex. Meals were half board, that is, breakfast and dinner were included. As far as I know, this is always the case on this tour. Perhaps Artex is cutting something. Look at other firms, especially those that form groups with Russians. As a rule, their "Classic Italy" is better, incl. and thanks to the host (actually a Russian company in Italy).
Well, if dinners are still not included, then it seems to me that it makes sense not to purchase them at the company, but to have dinner yourself. Feel the flavor of local restaurants, their cuisine, atmosphere.
By the way, with dinners included in the price of the tour, drinks are still for an additional fee.

We paid 2 extra. dinner: in the Borghese Palace in Florence - a theatrical performance with dancing jokes, beautiful interiors, delicious food and an unlimited amount of wine, and in Rome - a modern musical performance for Italian hits - I liked both dinners very much, I recommend.

Well, these are optional dinners. And, as far as I understand, we are talking about ordinary daily dinners. It is strange that they are not included in this tour, this is not a bus option.
For example, while traveling in Italy, I generally refused to snack in those places where groups stop for lunch. As a rule, next to such a "tourist" establishment there is a small local cafe. Somewhere around the corner, in a parking lot, etc. I find it and go there. And while the group is fed in a traditional place for it, I have a snack in a local cafe. At the same time, I not only try the real local cuisine, but also get a lot of pleasure, plunging into the environment itself.

How are the food prices in general? How much can you have dinner for two? Do they understand Russian in cafes or only English?

Already gone. Thanks to everyone for the advice, I didn’t pay for the dinners on the tour, which I didn’t regret. Ate in different cafe-restaurants - different dishes plus local flavor, so interesting. But if you don't want to mess with finding a place to eat, then buy a dinner tour. Basically, they returned late from excursions, so not everyone is able to eat the offered volumes for dinner - and the money has been paid :)
You can dine from 6-7 euros or more, depending on the city and requests. I did not use Russian, there were no problems with English. Good luck to those who go!

schegolkova: what did you see and what did you like the most? what do you advise? what hotel did you stay in?

I liked everything except the leader of the group, but it doesn't matter. Were in San Marino, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Siena and Venice. It was not possible to see everything - there is little time, each city requires several days. But the general impression was formed, and it's great! I want more, but not with a group. I did not go on an excursion to Naples and Pompeii. the one way trip took about 4 hours from Rome, spent that day in Rome and not in vain. Hotels in each city are different and not bad. Only in seaside hotels it was a bit cold. But everything is surmountable :) Travel, it's great!
