Where to go in summer?
Dear tourists!
Tell me where you can fly from Kyiv to Italy in the summer? I understand that the question is premature, but I really like to look at the proposed vacation spots on a cloudy winter day. The hotel is a C grade, no more, the beach is close, my husband and I are two pensioners, former teachers. Excursions are only by bus, no hiking due to age.

Look at Riccione. I strongly advise against Rimini, although it is cheaper.
Regarding excursions in Italy, most involve long walks.
аватар Galina50
Natasha, thanks for your reply. And the plane flies from Kyiv to Rimini? Is Riccioni a resort nearby or is there a separate flight there?
аватар alex45
While the Whizzair low-cost airline is still flying to Venice, I would recommend Lido di Esolo (this is a resort area on the spit near Venice, on the one side of the Adriatic, on the other, the Venetian lagoon). You can take a boat trip to Venice for a day, there are sandy beaches and a lot of pine trees on the Lido. Look at the whole area from Venice to Trieste. This seaside is characterized by sandy beaches, and seeing the sights is enough to start Venice. ask.

And in the question you wrote exactly "to fly" from Kyiv. That is, is it just the fact of having a direct flight that matters to you, or does the price also matter? Because I fly only with low-cost airlines (with rare exceptions), I can recommend, in addition to the Kyiv-Treviso flight (Venice, which Alex45 wrote about above), also Kyiv-Naples and Kyiv-Bergamo (Milan).
We ourselves already flew to Naples in 14, the airport is close to the city (not like Treviso to Venice, for example) and near the sea. Moreover, Naples itself did not like the city very much. You need to leave him. But very close, very interesting places, beaches, cities.
Amalfi Coast + Salerno, Capri. Very cool, beautiful, but not cheap. And hilly terrain.
But beyond Salerno, to Agropoli, there are huge sandy beaches. There you can choose interesting options. For example, near Paestum. The only thing I didn't like about Naples was that there were a lot of migrants in the cities. And Naples itself is dirty.

See Lake Garda. It's not very far from Bergamo, for example. The sea is also not far (if you rent a car).

Riccione is the continuation of Rimini. Airport in Rimini.
For other resorts in Italy. Of course, the resorts on the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas are more picturesque than the Adriatic coast. But, except for the Odyssey coast, our TO does not offer group transfers (you can always order an individual transfer, but it will be more expensive than a taxi). Those. either taxi or public transport.
About the lakes. The most picturesque - o.Como. Father Garda made no impression on me. On o.Garda offer excursions from Rimini / Riccione.

By the way, hatinka, "Expresses" go from Treviso to Lido di Esola and on the coast, almost to Trieste. Bibione was praised there, a new developing resort, forests and sandy beaches are available.

And now I am riveting my route to Garda, and so I feel that it is 1000 percent mine) It seems that the most beautiful place to live there is Riva Del Garda. And you, NatashaS, where were you, what didn’t impress you? Interesting)

Alex, what about the price for those express trains from Treviso? Profit to give birth, I wonder if it will work? I don't know, I'm so used to the car. With 4 more people...
Sorry, that in someone else's thread with my thoughts)
аватар alex45
I saw them when I flew to Treviso, but I didn’t need it, we were going to Venice, so I recommend visiting the ATVO website (this is the website of these express trains)

Thanks for the advice. My husband and I will fly a regular tour. group, that is, a charter and only from Keev. because we live in it. My daughter and her family rested on Lake Garda, she said that you don’t really swim in it, you don’t run into the sea every day, so I had to be content with the pool.

About lakes.
What decorates the lake? That's right, picturesque mountains. So, on the island of Garda, they (the mountains) are only in the northern part.
I was in Sirmione, this is the south, the view lingers only in the north direction, where the lake narrows and mountains are visible in the distance. The town is pretty with narrow streets and thermal springs. For a one-day sightseeing trip, it's fine, but no more.
About Rimini. I highly recommend choosing your hotel very carefully. There is a problem with the hotel base. And also remember that price determines quality. There are no cheap and good hotels there. There are cheap and tolerable or cheap and disgusting.
аватар NatashaS
And more about Rimini. Organization of the resort: beach, promenade, road, hotels turned "backward" to the sea, road for public transport, sidewalk and further hotels.
All life outside the beach flows along the public transport road, squeezed by hotels on one sidewalk (the 2nd sidewalk is occupied by hotel courtyards). If you are not having dinner inside a restaurant / pizzeria, then 10 cm away from you there are people in a continuous stream, because the tables are placed on the very same sidewalk.
Why do I write in such detail? I do not want Rimini to spoil the overall impression of Italy, a beautiful and amazing country.
аватар hatinka
NatashaS, thank you. I'm thinking the same way, I choose just the northernmost town in the narrowest part of Garda - Riva Del Garda. I hope you like it) Thank you

Natasha, the type of vacation that you described is the most for us, two pensioners. We also rested this summer in Mallorca.
Walk 50-100 meters to the beach, lie there until noon and have lunch at the nearest cafe, looking at passers-by and what is happening around. Okay, let's go to Rimini.

For several years I have been going to travel on my own in my car and have a little rest in Italy, I studied almost everything and came to the conclusion that it’s not worth going to Rimini and Lido di Jesolo - there are a lot of people and the quality of rest in this regard is not for me. I consider it a crime against myself on the beach, even knowing that you are in Italy. As a result, memories and knowledge will not increase. And I would go to Tuscany for a start, approximately in the Grosseto or San Vincenzo area (if closer to the sea), from where it is easy to get to Elba or Corsica, an hour drive to Sienna, two hours to Florence, it is easy to get to Volterra and San Gimigliano, to see the Church of St. Francis in Grosseto, where Adriano Celentano and Claudia Mori were secretly married, to see many) make one of the best Chianti wines in the world. It will be quite easy to get to Pisa, and not far from the amazing town of Lucca. Enough time to swim in the sea, what you need to do in the morning or in the evening. visiting these places, Italy will remain in your memory forever, and then you can go to Rome.
аватар alex45
Your route, of course, is cool, but TS are pensioners and prefer a beach holiday, there may be problems with the joints and heart. That's why we offered resort places with beaches. You wrote in your post "it's not worth going to Rimini and Lido di Jesolo - there are a lot of people and the quality of rest in this regard is not for me. I consider lying on the beach all my vacation a crime against myself." But this is for YOU. And we give recommendations for others.
And also for TC. Do not plan your vacation for August, all of Italy is on holidays at sea. Other months are better.
аватар Igor_m
It is not worth going to Italy to lie on the beach, especially in Rimini. Then Bulgaria is cheap, close and cheerful.
аватар Igor_m
"And we make recommendations for others." alex45, I also give recommendations to others, but, as a more experienced one, let the TC trust you. I would also be happy to heal old wounds, lie on the sand, but life is short, but I really want to see and learn what we were not allowed to do in the USSR, because we all come from the damned one.
аватар alex45
And I would not go to the “Russian” dacha in Rimini, and a year ago I would have advised the same as you, and I would have been going somewhere to the same Tuscany or to the “toe” of Italy, where rocks, the sea and little-traveled paths for our tourists, but ... after a heart attack, while lying in intensive care, I realized that I was no longer a walker in the mountains (which is a pity), you choose what you are able to pull. Somewhere like that, I began to understand those who love "seal" rest.
аватар alex45
Igor m, and you have a recommendation, take a closer look at Calabria, there are the cleanest coasts and the sea in Italy, the Italians themselves go there on vacation and praise this province.
аватар Igor_m
Thanks alex45. Health and peace to you and ALL. We will put things in order, we will go wherever we want. And if visas are canceled, then we will conquer all of Europe!
аватар alex45
Visas will not be canceled for us, the same Bulgarians and Romanians take visas to Schengen. I saw this on a Mediterranean cruise. Separately, members of the Schengen zone go proudly through a separate turnstile, the rest crowd in line, here are Russians, Ukrainians, Serbs and the rest - second-class. Even after putting things in order, it will take a long time to wait.
аватар Igor_m
And here you are wrong, alex45! Bulgarians, Romanians, and already Moldovans travel around the EU countries without visas.
аватар alex45
If I had not stood in the same queue with them, I would not have written. And so I had to, I could be late for the train to Genoa.
аватар Galina50
We were in Bulgaria twice, this joy of Soviet times.
But Alex correctly understood us that we do not go on excursions due to health problems. It was in our youth that we crossed the Caucasus Range from Pyatigorsk to Sukhumi, and now we just need to get to the warm sand. 99% of people of our age generally sit on benches near the house.
Thanks again to everyone for the advice and wishes!
аватар alex45
So I would recommend you the coast near Ravenna, also sandy beaches and Italian pine on the shore. I think for our years, the very thing, but there are no flights from us. And lately I have become very interested in sea cruises, for a start in the Mediterranean. A floating hotel-liner and stops-ports along the coast. Not tiring, excursions can be organized both by yourself and from the cruise. Want to be near the pools, food, like in a 5 * hotel, all the amenities.
аватар Galina50
Only the prices for cruises are probably exorbitant ...
аватар alex45
Nonsense, not at all transcendental, go to my account, I will send you to your mail, sites where you can see the prices for cruises yourself, as well as several independent tourist forums. Yes, there was a big report from hessen recently, she was on a cruise from Venice, you can also find my two cruise reports. Read.
