Ann G: Compared to Spain, Italy is cheaper. Especially northern Italy. Monitor Ryan Air (from Kyiv via Sofia or another intermediate airport), Wizz Air (also with a transfer). Well, you can have lunch for 30-40 euros for two, if without frills (pizza, salad, homemade draft wine). I don’t practice hostels, but hotels in Italy, to be honest, surprised me with: a) microscopic size, b) an extremely meager breakfast without natural coffee (in Italy - without coffee, how is it at all ?!), c) some general unsettled life ( something falls off, something leaks).
But Italian food bought all the shortcomings of hotels))). The only country where I have gained rather than lost weight after a vacation.))

ollennka, we lived in a quite decent two-room spacious room, where nothing leaked or broke off, the linen and towels were clean and changed regularly. small B&B near the Vatican. plus we were also lucky - our room was the only one on the floor, so in the afternoon we had a kitchen, a dining room and an entrance hall at our disposal. in fact, a large full-fledged apartment. breakfast is good (with natural coffee)))) and all this for ridiculous money by the standards of Rome.
