We have just returned from a holiday in Letojani, hotel Da Peppa 3 * and immediately want to write a review. The hotel was chosen based on the reviews of tourists who visited this hotel, but there were not many of them. But the reviews that I found were positive and so the choice was made. Now I want to write my impressions about the hotel and about the rest. The town of Letojani itself is a village, which consists of two parallel streets and you can get around them at a leisurely pace in 20-25 minutes. The town has two mini markets, several restaurants on the waterfront and one pharmacy on the outskirts. Moreover, everything works strictly from 9 to 21, but with a break for a siesta from 12 to 16. And the Italian siesta is a separate song! Now about the hotel. The owner of the hotel is 77 year old artist Giuseppe. The entire hotel is hung with his specific paintings and decorated in the style of an antique museum. We booked a room with a balcony, but since there are all rooms with a balcony, we got a French one, which you can only go to hang towels. Other rooms had large balconies with tables and chairs (so no point in paying extra for a room with a balcony). The rooms are all different in size, we had a small one overlooking the courtyard. Rooms are clean, cleaned every day. The bathrooms are big but there is a big but! The shower cabins are so small that it is difficult for a large person to fit in there, and besides, it is closed with a curtain that sticks to a wet body all the time. Now about food. Breakfasts are monotonous, croissants, coffee and tea from the machine, juice, yuppies, yogurt, butter, jam. If you want to eat an egg, they will cook it for you for 2 euros. I have never seen dinner like this before. Nobody asks you what you prefer, everyone is fed the same way, as in the dining room. The first is pasta, salad, the second is meat or fish (alternate). All drinks are paid. In general, we got the impression that Giuseppe is a very economical friend and he keeps the hotel in order to somehow survive. His staff is very small and the same people work all the time. Well, everything is sooooo modest. We were in such a hotel for the first time, savings on everything. There are positive points - it's a free beach and a bus stop nearby, from which you can go to Taormina, where you can walk and go shopping. In addition, there is a railway station nearby from which you will leave for Catania or Messina. We took a car for 3 days (160 euros) and traveled around the island ourselves. The best impression left from the Etna volcano, and the most negative from the siesta. In general, the impression of Sicily is twofold, but I do not want to return there.
