Summer villa guest house is an amazing place on Maafushi island. I came here the second time and it was an absolutely different experience in comparison with the previous visit but again wonderful. If you decide to go there you will feel yourself like in out-of-town house with the amazingly beautiful warm ocean and palm trees near by.

I came here the second time and it was an absolutely different experience in comparison with the previous visit but again wonderful. If you decide to go there you will feel yourself like in out-of-town house with the amazingly beautiful warm ocean and palm trees near by. All staff is very friendly and caring like your good friends.
There are two courts in the guest house. One of them is a café area. There are wooden tables with big umbrellas and very comfortable armchairs with leather cushions. This court is located in the palm garden.
The second one is an indoor court. It is a nice place for sunbathes in bikini (comfortable beach beds and shower). This court can also be used as a playground for kids.
There was also a kitchen for guests in Summer Villa. Everyone could use tableware, toaster, and coffeemaker facilities or take boiling water for independent meals. But it was also possible to order the stuff to cook lunch for you.
Dinner was a buffet. Every evening the staff lit candles and so each dinner turned into a romantic dating. If you decide to come with children you should not worry about food. My son (3 years old) enjoyed food in Summer Villa café .
Rooms were spacious and furnished with a large soft bed and bedside tables, a large wardrobe with a wooden safe inside, a dressing table with bench, fridge, powerful AC, fans, etc. Every room had a private toilet and shower with hot water. Soap and shampoo were a kind of pleasant surprise for guests. Bed sheets and pillowcases were changed regularly. The room was very clean and cozy.
There are two beaches on Maafushi island. The Indian Ocean is calm and very beautiful. You can enjoy it as a natural swimming pool. There is a nice coral reef nearby.
Summer Villa guest house is the best place to relax, have a good rest and get a charge of positive emotions and energy. The same time if you wish an active or extreme leisure the hotel staff can arrange excursions and active kinds of sports for you. The guest house provides cheap excursions to several resort islands, Park Island, Sand Bank, Manta and Wale shark spots. They can arrange dolphin watching, fishing and snorkeling in very picturesque areas. We also saw Bodu Beru - the show of traditional dances and songs of the Maldivian culture.
There is WiFi in the hotel.
Recommend the transfer from the airport to the guest house on the speed boat!

We stayed at the Summer villa in October. This is an excellent hotel with a wonderful family atmosphere created by a Maldivian family. Therefore, all the hotel staff are really interested in every tourist and do their best to make the guests happy all the time. The rooms are kept clean, bed linen and towels are changed regularly.

The rooms are equipped with powerful air conditioning and a fan, some of them have refrigerators, mini-bars, safes (wooden). The showers have water heaters, so every room has hot water. They provide guests with soap and shampoo (not every day).
The hotel is located at a distance of 30 minutes by boat from Male or 1.5 hours by local ferry. The ferry runs (30 MVR/person/one trip one way) daily at 7:30 am (Maafushi island - Male) and 2:30 pm (Male - Maafushi island), except Friday.
Maafushi Island is a great place for those who want to plunge into the atmosphere of local life. And it's a surprisingly pleasant place with very friendly locals, which we really enjoyed. The island is absolutely safe for walking, even at night. Maafushians are very friendly people, always ready to help without any tip. So you can buy souvenirs several times cheaper than they are sold for resort tourists. Local shops (except for souvenirs) have fixed prices, and you can buy fruits, food and even clothes, shoes and everything for snorkeling for real money.
Naseem, the owner of the Summer villa hotel, organizes wonderful excursions: swimming with manta rays, a trip to the sandbar (Send Bank), Byadhoo Resort, Park Island, a trip to see dolphins and fishing. The snorkeling spots they offer are brilliant. We saw manta rays, lobsters, octopuses, sea turtles, all kinds of stingrays, dolphins and billions of fish, as well as very beautiful corals, starfish, sea cucumbers, etc. The price of the excursion depends on the number of guests who are ready to go on one and the same excursion. It is very nice to feel that the hotel staff cares about every tourist. The owner does a lot of nice things for guests absolutely free. This hotel is really the best place in Maafushi island. Some tourists staying at the White Shell Beach Inn Maafushi came and dined at our Summer villa hotel because the quality of the food and the service were so much better.
We left our hearts on this island and in this wonderful Summer Villa hotel. We will definitely return there.
