My husband and I have been in Malaysia for several months now, he works as a programmer, I am a freelancer. Therefore, when a minute is issued, we get out to see the country. Sometimes only for 2-3 days (my husband has a strict job). We went to Langkawi for the first time. But from locals and ekpats we heard repeatedly that in Langkawi the choice of housing rests on two axes: "expensive, very expensive and chic" and "cheap, very cheap or no special conditions. " That is, luxury hotels and modest shacks-guesthouses near the road. There are almost no options when it is inexpensive (up to $ 100) per night and with some kind of service and breakfast on the island! And if there is, then everything is usually clogged. That is, "three-four", and even to the sea and restaurants - can be counted on the fingers.

Upon arrival, this is what happened. At least there were a lot of cheap hotels, but they looked...to put it mildly, more backpackers. Aseania, apparently, is just an intermediate link between "very expensive" and "cheap and cheerful". It is located 200 meters from the beach, 3 minutes walk.

The hotel is big. Even huge. The pool, as for the "three rubles" - just a miracle. Plus a paddling pool for kids and a separate "artificial wave" pool. There is enough space for everyone. Rooms - yes, so-so. But apparently from the previous review they still made some kind of repair. We had a deluxe pool view. I can’t say anything particularly bad, but in Thailand I would not live in such a hotel. That is, in the old, albeit with updates. In Thailand, the choice of hotels is simply larger, I didn’t like one - I went to another. There are no safes, this is so, by the way.

Breakfasts. Very good for such a hotel. Lots of fruits, a selection of fresh vegetables, capers, olives, pickles. Delicious chicken sausages, ham, potatoes in different variations, french toast, many options for eggs and omelettes (but you need to queue! ), pastries are not Turkish, but will do. plus local dishes: noodles, meat, rice with additives (nasi lemak), Indian roti, sauces for them, steamed Chinese buns.
There was even cheese, an ordinary hard one, like cheddar. In this regard, everything is OK and very satisfying.

Beach. Not private, as I already wrote, about two hundred meters from the hotel. Beautiful landscape, wide. The water after the eastern islands (for example, Lang Teng, about which I already wrote here) seems muddy. We did not swim, there was a strong wave. There are many activities on the beach, the most popular is skydiving. The price is about $40 per flight (120 ringgit).

Things to do. Right next to the hotel is Pantai Cenang Street, where there are bars, restaurants, massage parlors and numerous Duty Free shops. So in order to eat, there were no questions at all. Everything is at a distance of 3-10 minutes on foot from the hotel. Very comfortably. Excursions are sold on every corner, we only took "Mangroves" from the guys from Global Alliance. We went without a Russian guide (we don't need one), but the guys at the agency said that if necessary, they would always find a guide for extra payment.
In the hotel, by the way, a good guy Ikram from Uzbekistan works at the tourist desk. He also said that if a Russian guide is needed, he will find it.

More about the service in the hotel. The people there have a slightly strange idea about design and order. For example, on the greenish-gray tiles of the corridor lay colorful rugs in brown tones. It looked funny. We met an Australian family there, they rented an apartment for 5 people, where they said that they had these colorful rugs on a gray carpet. : ) The plates that are put out in the corridor outside the room after ordering food in the room are not cleaned for 3-5 hours.

But I will say this: if you do not expect something incredible (and how to expect it from an old "three rubles") - then the hotel is quite and completely. Some families did not leave it at all, as it seemed to us. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and by the pool you can generally forget where you are.
4 times a week they show a cultural show right by the pool, with dinner, but you need to sign up for it in advance.
