Not a bad hotel, but little exotic and there are a lot of those who are now everywhere...."

The second time we went to rest in this hotel (were at the same time in 2013). Considered the best in Borneo.
Rested from 03/27/18. until 04/11/18. The hotel has risen in price significantly since 2013 and has lost its exoticism and "Europeanism".
Our room was in "Ocean Wing" in a new building on the 4th floor, away from the noise of the "children's" pool! There were a lot of children! Just some kind of pioneer camp!
As elsewhere and always, they first tried to settle us at the "garbage dump": with a smell from the kitchen and with a hum, and with vibration from the main air conditioner, with a "view of the sea" through the trees. Only a significant surcharge for the room helped to solve the standard issue of changing the place of stay.
In the rooms, judging by the new building, of the "Premium" type, not the best changes have taken place: instead of a capsule coffee machine, there are bags of instant coffee, tea, etc.

The only thing that has improved is the "free" daily replenished minibar (of course, due to the cost of the room).
There is no longer a special kit on the loggia by the bath (shampoo, gels, etc.... ). Well, and so on . . on the little things.
Dinner, and everything else, is tailored for guests from China (their number: 80-90%). All usually with children.
Everything used to be quieter, calmer and more dignified. No one came to dinner in flip-flops and beach attire!
Dinner now: either in a restaurant at your own expense, or in a Malay-style shalman by the pool (dark, noisy, smoke from grills and other joys of a large canteen at the camp site). Get dirty ,,, , + mosquitoes.
In addition, it was very annoying to have to sign the bill every time at dinner (~ 320 - 350 MYR for two). Then they also proved at the reception that our dinner was paid for! Additional taxes: on services and tourism (in the amount of 16%), which appear as if from nothing, although we also paid for them in Moscow.
Constant disassembly with managers at the reception with bills - spoiled the overall impression of the hotel + only English or Chinese in communication, which was overcome with some tension.
Wine, even simpler, of course, is very expensive and, at the same time, disgusting.
We went to the islands to swim. The sea near the hotel is unclear, jellyfish (stinging) often swim up, and there is also the so-called. "red tide" Mosquitoes are silent. You will not find that they have already flown into the room, and in the evening in the open air they will quietly bite.
On the beach, especially in the evening, small midges. They will bite, you will itch for two weeks!
Once you can visit, look at the exotic.
This is what I wrote, my comments in regards to the hotel, Positive and interesting, of course, more! Especially if you are in Borneo for the first time and have not climbed the whole island, like me, before.
But, on Langkawi (hotel - "Andaman"), I like it more.
