At the beginning of March, I booked the Hostel Sleep Inn hotel in Amsterdam, and I was charged for the reservation in the amount of 14.98 euros, assuring that this is just a reserved amount and it will be returned to me within a month after payment upon arrival.
Then, upon arriving at the hotel, I paid the full cost of the stay in cash.
I was given some dubious piece of paper-receipt, where some kind of payment decryption was indicated. And they assured me that the amount of the reservation 14.98 would be unlocked for me on the card.
It's been half a year and it hasn't happened.
The hotel lied at first that it was only a reserve and they were not debited from my card.
Then he lied that it was some kind of city tax.
Then he began to lie that they took less from me for this amount.
And the Hotels. com service took their side and sang along to their song.

Although I raised the issue of refunding the amount of the reservation immediately, both at the time of booking, and during check-in, and immediately after check-out.
The money was never returned to me.
The Hostel Sleep Inn and Hotels. com obviously worked in tandem to get the extra penny from the customer!
I do not recommend this service and this hotel to anyone!
