Capilano Suspension Bridge
Capilano Suspension Bridge, Capilano Suspension Bridge
Canada, Vancouver
The Vancouver Suspension Bridge connects the steep banks of the Capilano River at a height of 70 meters in the eponymous park and is one of the most visited places in British Columbia. The bridge was originally built for the workers of the sawmill located on the other side of the canyon. The park and the bridge were named after the Indian leader, in memory of whom totem poles depicting animals and the mythical soul of the squamish tribe were installed at the entrance to the bridge. Not everyone will be able to walk 136.5 meters along the bridge, which is swaying from the wind or the movement of people, but safety is guaranteed by steel cables that can withstand up to 1000 people at the same time.
From the beginning of December to the beginning of January, the Canyon Lights light show takes place in the park, decorating the bridge with multi-colored lights.
