The Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge
Czech republic, Prague
Charles Bridge - a bridge in Prague over the Vltava River, connects the districts of Prague Lesser Town and the Old Town. Built in the Middle Ages. There are 30 sculptures on the bridge. The bridge is 520 m long and 9.5 m wide. The bridge rests on 16 powerful arches lined with hewn sandstone blocks.

Today it is the only work of its kind in medieval art. The stone bridge was originally called Prague, in 1870 it was named after the founder.

Nearby is the Charles Bridge Museum, which tells about the history of the bridge, as well as about the construction and numerous reconstructions of this wonderful piece of architecture. The museum has a cafe and a museum shop.

PRAGUE !! ! Romantic, colorful, amazing and charming ...many more epithets can be said about her ...She has preserved its historical appearance, architectural style ...this city is adored by my husband))) wants to get lost here, and then find))) although, I confess, it once was. * Thousands of towers, looking at which, neck hurts), * Prague Castle - the world's largest castle, a complex of palaces, temples ... * St. Vitus Cathedral - extraordinary beauty, the main Catholic church of the Czech Republic, the cathedral, the construction of which lasted 6 centuries .

The legendary and well-known bridge. This is the place where any tourist should go. There are many monuments on the bridge. The bridge offers beautiful views of the city. Just perfect for a beautiful photo.

It is more like a street full of passers-by, not a bridge, but a street. Here are musicians, souvenir sellers, queues for places "making wishes", beautiful sculptures and beautiful views of the river and the city. By the way, many sculptures are copies, and the originals are stored in the museum. The last photo is a view of Charles Bridge from Prague Castle.

We were in Prague in March 2016, I really remember and liked Charles Bridge - a beautiful place, gothic architecture, and the views from it are excellent. I was very impressed and remembered for a long time

Charles Bridge is amazing! It's hard to find the right words. Unusual architecture, view of the Vltava, the grandeur of the bridge itself. When we were in Prague, the bridge served as a landmark, like Red Square in Moscow. You can orient yourself on the bridge, from it you can start an independent tour of the city. We also realized that all local festivities and protests start from the Charles Bridge.

The photo shows a view of the Charles Bridge at night from a ship on a walk along the Vltava River. I highly recommend visiting this medieval miracle, both during the day and always in the evening, because when the lights turn on, this place takes on such a special mysterious, romantic and fabulous look that you only need to see it with your own eyes and feel that atmosphere yourself)

Charles Bridge is the most famous bridge in Prague, and one of the most famous in Europe. He could claim the highest score, but because of the eternal crowd, this score is not so high. Perhaps in the summer, at dawn, when the sun is just rising, there are fewer people here ...In any case, the bridge is amazing. It must be seen from afar, as well as walking along it to discover other interesting monuments of the Czech capital.

Why seagulls? My recollection of an evening walk along the Charles Bridge. And hundreds of seagulls snatching bread crumbs right from their hands. Be sure to visit in the evening, admire the backlight. Well, take some bread with you.

The bridge, the date of construction of which was agreed with astrologers. The bridge, which offers beautiful views of both Prague banks. A bridge on which the flow of tourists never stops. But a special concentration of tourists is observed in two places. Of course, magical! So, for the fulfillment of your innermost and intangible desires: Place number 1 at the statue of John of Nepomuk. On the bas-relief of the pedestal, you need to touch the bronze figure (it is polished to a shine - you can't go wrong).
