KGB Museum

KGB Museum
Czech republic, Prague
The KGB Museum was opened in 2011 at the initiative of the Black Rain organization, which represents activists passionate about the history of the secret service. The museum is located in the Prague Lesser Town on Vlasska Street, not far from the building of the German Embassy. Here are unique exhibits that belonged to the first persons of the Soviet state: the death mask of Lenin, a radio receiver from the personal office of Lavrenty Beria, an unusual type of small arms and chemical weapons, and much more. Part of the collection is devoted to the "Prague Spring", which is represented by photographs taken in 1968 by intelligence officers.

This is not a museum, but Sharashkin's office. Living and working in the Czech Republic for a long time, a person does not speak Czech, but only broken English and, as you thought, RUSSIAN. In the period of WAR, this poor guide changes his rhetoric after learning that his visitors are from Ukraine! He shows people a video glorifying the Russian army! How is it even possible at such a time? ! I also extort 500 kroner each. This establishment should be closed, and the tour guide should be tested for prohibited substances, as his "sneaky" behavior raises questions.

The KGB Museum was organized thanks to a private collector who had lived in Russia for some time. In Russia, the man began to collect his unique collection. The collection is based on historical exhibits that came to it in the nineties of the twentieth century. In those years, many small specialized exhibitions and museums closed, ceasing to exist forever, and items from there in the best cases fell on flea markets. This is one of the few places where a large number of items that were once in the possession of the first persons of the USSR, the leaders of the Cheka, DPU, ODPU, NKVD, MGB, KGB were able to collect.

This excursion was the most memorable of all my trips to Prague. This small museum has a huge collection of Soviet KGB memorabilia. You will even have the opportunity to hold them in your hands. This museum is unlike any other, and it's all thanks to its owner - who knows all the intricacies of his business and happily tells the stories of the exhibits to his visitors, he really was able to enliven the atmosphere of the museum. He seemed simply obsessed with his work (in the good sense of the word), as he had a Soviet outlook on life.
