Germany, Frankfurt am Main
The Frankfurt Stock Exchange is the largest in Germany, the second in Europe and one of the world's largest stock exchanges, owned by Deutsche Borse AG. The first exchange building was built in 1585 at the expense of local merchants, when uniform exchange rates were adopted. The beautiful building that currently houses the stock exchange was built in 1870. In front of it are sculptures of the Bull and the Bear - symbols of the increase and decrease in stock quotes. More than 90% of the turnover of the German securities market passes through the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
