Accidentally passed by and I was interested in a beautiful building. Interestingly, its construction was financed by the Duchess of Galliera (after the death of her husband, who owned this land). She decided to arrange something like her own museum of paintings, embroidery and lace. Construction began in 1879 under the direction of the architect Lé on Guinein and was completed in 1894. The Duchess died in 1888, having quarreled with the authorities of Paris (this is a different story) and transferring her entire collection to the museum of Italian Genoa. Since 1902, an exhibition of industrial art has been operating here, and for periods the city rented out premises for prestigious auctions. Only since 1977, the Fashion Museum began to function here. All his expositions are temporary, as there is a problem with the conservation of fabrics. I liked the palace itself. By the way, the frame for it was built by the Eiffel company.
They like to take photo shoots against the background of it, and next to it is a cozy courtyard with a fountain, where you can relax from the noise of the city.
