Igor Stravinsky Square

Igor Stravinsky Square is a small square named after the Russian composer, best known for the fountain of the same name located on it, opened in 1983. The fountain was designed by the Swiss architect Jean Tinguely and his French wife Nica de Saint Phalle. It is filled with sixteen movable sculptures, among which are characters from Stravinsky's ballets.
The square also houses the building of IRCAM - the center for music research.

Very crowded
The main attractions of this square are the Stravinsky Fountain and the Georges Pompidou Center. The fountain was opened in 1983 and became a popular place among young people. This extravagant structure is a swimming pool, in which 16 mobile sculptures are placed. Some of them are metal mechanisms, while others are avant-garde figures made of plastic, painted in bright colors. From time to time, music from Stravinsky's most famous works begins to play, and they start to move, releasing jets of water.→

Defender of Time
Near the Pompidou Center, this square is occupied by an unusual fountain. I am not a strong fan of modern art, but it will be interesting for children. When I was there, it was hot and the kids were splashing right in the fountain. And next to it, look at the original mechanical watch "Defender of Time".→
