The Acropolis is the first and obligatory point of the visit to Athens. It rises on a mountain and is visible from anywhere in the city. From the stop of the sightseeing buses, you need to walk a little or ride on a wagon. A ticket for 1 adult costs 12 euros, the price also includes a visit to Olympion (the temple of Olympian Zeus, or rather its ruins) in the center, next to Syntagma Square. There are a lot of people, mostly, of course, these are group excursions, there are almost no individual ones. There are some difficulties with visiting the Acropolis - firstly, it is impossible to listen to a long lecture of the guide in decent heat (and there is practically no shade there), secondly, there is not a single point of sale of drinks on the territory of the Acropolis, and thirdly, slippery stones polished by hundreds of thousands of tourists' feet . Therefore, hats, water and comfortable shoes are a must! There are no toilets nearby either, consider this fact : ) My impressions after visiting the Acropolis were twofold.
On the one hand, this is a place of ancient history, a symbol of Greece, on the other hand, the difficulties of visiting, which I have already written about, and just a huge inexhaustible flow of tourists. Decide for yourself : )
