Greece, Athens
The thermal lake is located on the southern coast of Attica, about 21 km from the center of Athens, next to the sea. Previously, it was called Eschatiotis or Gorgopida, that was the name of the mother of King Megarius who drowned here. According to legend, the lake was the favorite bathing place of the goddess Athena herself.
