Heroes Square

Heroes' Square is one of the famous squares of the Hungarian capital, located in Pest. Andrássy Avenue ends at the Heroes' Square, and the Varosliget city park begins behind the square. The square was decorated for the celebration of the millennium of Hungary in 1896 and then accommodated over 50 thousand guests who came to Hungary.

Interesting for history buffs
Large monumental square dedicated to the heroes of Hungary. As for me, it is more interesting to wander behind this square, in the Varosliget park, where several architectural masterpieces of Hungary are located at once.→

Monumental and spacious.
The area is large, spacious, but there is nothing special to see, a short stop is enough. It is interesting to walk on this square with a guide, as each ruler has a whole story. If you are traveling on your own, I recommend reading about all the heroes in advance, so your stop will be more informative : )→

Solemnly and a lot of air.
If you are in Budapest, then you will definitely get to the Heroes' Square, as several attractions are tied to it. The square is located at the entrance to the City Park. The central object is the Millennium Column of Hungary. On it, the Archangel Gabriel holds the Holy Crown and the Apostolic double cross. At the foot of the column are the first heroes of the statehood of Hungary, headed by Arpad. The tomb of the Unknown Hero is also located there, so state events often take place on the square (Andrá ssy Avenue is blocked).→
