Castel Capuano is the oldest castle in Naples, it was built in the 12th century. Castel Capuano got its name because of its proximity to the Port of Capuano. For a long time, the castle was a royal residence, later court sessions began to be held in it.
Currently, the Capuano Castle houses the Civil Court of Naples.
