The small town of Braga has many attractions, but I would like to highlight one interesting architectural ensemble of the 16th century. – The Chapel and the House of Coimbras.

In 1505, Juan de Coimbra, who served as the supplier of the episcopate of Braga, bought the building and equipped it with his future residence, and in 1525 he also added a Gothic chapel. The house itself is interesting to look at thanks to the beautiful windows, doors and balconies in the Manueline style (now there is an art gallery). The nearby Chapel is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, it is made in the form of a rectangular tower. The interior of the chapel is decorated exquisitely and richly. The Gothic ceiling, decorated with rosettes, as well as the sculptural composition "The Burial of Christ" attracts attention. It also houses the crypt of Joã o de Coimbra, the entrance to which is marked with his family coat of arms.
The side walls of the chapel are decorated with azulejo tiles with scenes of the Creation of the world, as well as Adam and Eve.
