Embankment Strandvegen

Strändvägen, Strandvagen Boulevard, Guay Strandvagen
Sweden, Stockholm
The Strandvegen embankment is a prestigious boulevard built in the second half of the 19th century. The boulevard runs along the sea and is built up on one side with majestic buildings and mansions designed by the best architects of their time and now owned by politicians, businessmen, actors and other famous and wealthy people. This street starts at Nibroplan and ends at Djurgårdsbrun. The promenade is 1.2 km long and 35 m wide. From the sea side, the boulevard has many restaurants with beautiful views of the sea and moored boats, on the opposite side there are magnificent buildings, and in the middle there is a tree-lined avenue. In the architecture of the Strandvägen waterfront, it is worth highlighting such buildings built at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries as Bünsowska Huset, Von Rosen Palace, Thaveniuska Huset and the Hotel Esplanade 4* and Diplomat Stockholm 4 *. Local residents and guests of Stockholm love to walk along the pedestrian esplanade here, admiring the local beauties.

The Strandvegen Embankment is the most prestigious area of the Swedish capital, it is also called the French Embankment. A beautiful view of its prospect opens from another embankment - from the Royal Palace. Wealthy people began to settle here from the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century. In the original houses in the neoclassical style, it is customary to occupy an entire floor or entrance. An apartment of 7 rooms in one of the local buildings was presented to Astrid Lindgren, but she considered the gift too modest, despite the fact that the heroes of her fairy tale about Carlson lived in the most ordinary quarters of the capital.
