Riddarholmen Island

Riddarholmen, Knight's Island
Sweden, Stockholm
Riddarholmen Island (Knight's Island) is located to the west of Stadholmen Island and is connected to it by the Riddarholmsbrun Bridge. The main attractions of the island are Jarl Birger Square, Riddarholmen Church, as well as the former parliament building, on the roof of which there are even tours. The waterfront of Riddarholmen is also very beautiful, offering a wonderful view of Stockholm City Hall.

From this small island, I would advise you to start your first acquaintance with Stockholm. There are no cafes, shops, hotels - only administrative buildings. So you will not stay here for a long time, but you will get a more complete picture of the city. The most interesting objects on the island are the Riddarholmen Church, where all Swedish kings are buried (unfortunately, the church is open only in summer) and a monument to the founder of Stockholm, Birger Jarl, dressed in armor exactly like that of an epic Russian hero.
