Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
Singapore, Singapore
The temple is a beautiful building with traditional roof and wall architecture, which is located next to Chinatown. Inside, the Temple impresses with its splendor, shades of painted frescoes, decoration, and unusual candlesticks. Services are held on the first floor.
On the second floor of the Temple there is a small shop where you can buy a variety of themed souvenirs, useful things, books and incense, as well as a cafe. In the enfilade you can see portraits of monks.
On the third floor of the Temple there is a museum that describes the history of the tooth.
The tooth of the Buddha is kept on the fourth floor of the Temple. It is located in a golden mortar weighing 420 kg behind thick glass. Every day the monks serve near it, and when the hem is opened, the parishioners can look at the golden stupa. But the tooth itself is visible only on the camera nearby, which broadcasts the image from the golden stupa. Modern dentists say that the tooth cannot be human. Most likely, it belongs to a cow or a buffalo. But, nevertheless, the tooth has been kept in the Temple for several hundred years.
