Spiritual seminary (Picture gallery)
Ukraine, Kamianets-Podilskyi
The Art Museum-Gallery of Kamenets-Podolsky is located in the former educational building of the Theological Seminary. The building, built in 1790, was designed taking into account the requirements of the Uniate community, which planned to place a theological seminary and chapter here. After the city became part of the Russian Empire in 1793, the building was used as a public building, until in 1805 the Podolsk Orthodox Seminary was transferred here from Shargorod.

Mikhail Dostoevsky, Stefan Rudansky, Nikolai Leontovich and other famous people studied at the Kamianets-Podilsky Seminary. In 1976, the building of the abolished seminary became the home of an art gallery. Its museum exposition presents paintings from different eras, including a collection of icons of various religious denominations, graphics and sculpture of the 17th-20th centuries, furniture of the 18th century. The art gallery is part of the Kamianets-Podilskyi State Historical Museum-Reserve.

The construction of the seminary took place in 1789-1790. Until 1793, there was a Greek Catholic seminary. From 1793 this building was transferred for the needs and gatherings of the local nobility, and in 1798 it was leased to the Anton Zmiivsky Theater. In 1805 the seminary was again given to the theological department of the Podolsk Orthodox Diocese. Here the premises were restored, a balcony was arranged, and an original roof was built. The house became one of the buildings of Kamyanets-Podilsky Theological Seminary.
