The area is the center of the ancient quarter of the Armenian community that settled in Kamyanets in the 13th century. In fact, this is not an area, but a wide and short street paved with cobblestones. The address of the square is only houses on the north and south sides. The west side is Starobulvarna Street, the east side is Pyatnytska Street. In addition, Dominican, Hospitalna, Virmenska, Ioanno-Predtechenska and Komendantsky lanes diverge from the square in different directions.

Most of the houses on the square are architectural monuments of either national or local significance. The largest building is the district court building (aka the State Chamber and the Noble Assembly), erected in the second half of the 19th century. In the summer of 1919, the Ministry of Military Affairs of the Ukrainian People's Republic was located here. In 2002, a memorial plaque to Simon Petliura was installed on the facade.
To the west of the square is the building of the spiritual consistory of the 18th-19th centuries (now the Church of the Epiphany), and to the east is the building of the seminary (now an art gallery). Nearby - the Museum of Antiquities - a former Armenian trading house, then the residence of the Armenian bishop.

Another attraction of the square is the house № 7 - a descendant of two ancient Armenian houses of the 16th century, connected by one roof in the early 18th century. In one of the houses there was a plaque with the name of the owner - "Jakub Lewonowicz A. D. 1646".
