You can come to the botanical garden at any time of the year. In winter (February-March), azaleas and camellias bloom. In spring (April-May) - magnolias, rhododendrons, a luxurious collection of lilacs (21 species out of 28 existing) and fruit trees. In summer (June-July) roses bloom, and in autumn (September) chrysanthemums bloom. And there is also a greenhouse complex with plants from the humid tropics, the Garden of Eden with a collection of exotic birds and tropical butterflies, and a Korean garden - these expositions are open all year round.
The May holidays are a wonderful time. Someone tends to the country - away from the noisy city, someone relaxes with barbecue in the nearest parks and green areas, and someone enjoys walks in the botanical garden. This is the time when chestnuts bloom and lilacs begin to bloom. There are two botanical gardens in Kyiv - the Botanical Garden. Academician A. V. Fomin of the Kyiv National University and the National Botanical Garden. N. N.

It so happens that I always visit the botanical garden. Grishko. On the May holidays, lilacs bloom there, and many Kievans and city guests rush to stroll along the alleys of this garden.
Not far from the entrance there are areas with flowering rhododendrons. These are still small bushes, but it is impossible to look away from their bright flowers.
And if you are attracted by the delightful flowers of magnolias, you need to go along the central alley past the greenhouse pavilion where tropical plants live, and turn left. You will also find several magnolia trees on the central alley, but the main garden behind the greenhouse complex - large white, pink and burgundy flowers exuding a delicate aroma, has not left anyone indifferent.
The domes of the Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery rise above the magnolia garden. The monastery is active, pilgrims from different countries come here.
You can read about the history of the Orthodox monastery at http://iona. kiev. ua/monastery. php. I recommend to go inside the Holy Trinity Church.
To the left behind the monastery is a huge lilac garden - 1500 lilac bushes represent 21 species of lilacs (out of 28 existing in the world), 130 varieties and several dozen hybrids. The Lilac Garden was founded in 1948. Alleys, paths, steps - all these paths intertwine, intersect, winding between luxurious lilac bushes, take you to the slopes of the Dnieper to the Vydubetsky Monastery or - lead deep into the botanical garden.
And on the May holidays, sakura, apple and pear trees, Japanese quince (chaenomeles) and other plants and shrubs bloom.
