Lieberman's mansion - a monument of architecture and history on Pechersky Lypki in Kyiv - was built in 1879 in the neo-Renaissance style according to the project of the famous Kiev architect Vladimir Nikolaev on the site of the wooden estate of Adjutant General Trepov. After the purchase in 1896 of a house with an adjoining territory by sugar refiner Simkha Lieberman, the architect rebuilt the building from one-story to two-story, completed the left wing and a two-sided ramp for carriages. After the revolution of 1917, the building housed various state institutions, and since 1953 - the Union of Writers of Ukraine. Here in 1989 the People's Movement of Ukraine was founded.
The second floor of the mansion has been preserved almost in its original form: the ceilings are decorated with fine handmade stucco molding, the walls are decorated with carved oak panels, Dutch stoves are lined with expensive tiles, furniture of the 19th century has survived. A marble staircase with a metal railing of that time leads to the second floor. The interior of Lieberman's former dining room has also been preserved.
