The monument to the founders of Kyiv is located on the banks of the Dnieper, not far from the
monument-sculpture "Motherland". It was opened in 1982 and is dedicated to the legendary founders of the city - the brothers Kyi, Shchek, Khoriv and their sister Lybid. In February 2010, the monument collapsed, and on May 20 of the same year a new, bronze one was installed. The monument is a favorite place for Kiev newlyweds.
