Quite a long time ago, I wanted to go to Ukrainian Venice - Vilkovo. It is located in the south-west of the Odessa region in the Dniester Delta. Directly on the border with Romania, about 15 kilometers from the confluence of the river into the Black Sea. The nearest settlement is Mayaki. The landscapes here are very beautiful. The batteries in the camera ran out completely in a day. Vilkovo is perhaps one of those places worth visiting. Instead of streets, there are canals, locals go boating, about as often as most villagers ride bicycles. The ancient settlements of the Old Believers, who largely retained their traditions. Beautiful places, many rare birds and animals. In general, this is a paradise for tourists who are not indifferent to nature.
Arriving in Odessa, I took a one-day excursion to see this beauty. We went very early in the morning. Great double decker bus. The journey takes 3-4 hours. The most beautiful views outside the window.
When we arrived, we took a tour of the city. Ancient churches, many canals, wooden bridges and boats, the picturesque Danube. A lot of details about the closed culture of the Old Believers. Then there was a boat trip on a motor boat along the Danube. Landed on the island of the Old Believers. Lunch included an ear of several types of fish. Return to Odessa is already dark. Sea of ​ ​ impressions and positive emotions. Great getaway for one day.
In any case, if you have never been there before, then it is definitely worth a trip. I'm thinking about a return trip.
