The monument to Catherine II is located in the city center on Lenin Street. It was opened on June 15, 2008. It was under Catherine II that Sevastopol was founded and thanks to her the city became one of the key outposts of the Russian Empire. On a reinforced concrete base stands a bronze monument to the Empress, the total weight of the monument is more than 40 tons.
