Ascension or Strukovskaya Church is a famous wooden temple in the Hutsul region. The church was built in 1824 in the village of Yasinya, on Mount Kosterivka. According to legend, shepherd Ivan Struk built it after the miraculous rescue of his flock of sheep in the middle of a snowstorm. The temple is built in the shape of a cross and consists of three tiers. It is currently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
