Disneyland in Anaheim (Los Angeles metropolitan area) is the first of Walt Disney's amusement parks and the only one that was created during his lifetime. It was opened in 1955. The park is divided into thematic areas, of which there are currently nine. Disneyland is surrounded by a narrow gauge railway. It is one of the most visited places in the world - more than 600 million people have visited it since its opening.
