COCONUT ISLAND
I want to share a little vacation on about. Koh Samui in this hotel.
We rested in July 2010.
The island itself is of extraordinary beauty, and is considered one of the cleanest resorts in Thailand.
So it is, the island is what I advise everyone to see. You get off the plane and immediately immerse yourself in greenery and flowers, coconut palms are everywhere.
I will say right away that rest on the islands of Thailand is more expensive than on the mainland. Prices for food / travel / entertainment (told the tourists with whom we flew back, they rested in Pattaya).
We rested 12 days + 2 days Bangkok. We visited a lot of excursions on Koh Samui, the most memorable is the "Islands". A series of islands, completely untouched by human hands, which you can reach by boat. The crater in the depths of the lake is something to be seen.
A little about the hotel.
The first impression of the hotel is positive, but there were some nuances.

When settling in, we were offered to pay extra and take a room of a different class, after calculating we agreed, but in the end it turned out that this was a payment for a day and it was more than 1.000 USD for the whole time, we refused. They settled in our room. Since the area of the hotel itself is mountainous, the hotel is actually located higher above sea level, in comparison with other hotels about. Samui. Consequently, the view from the balcony was amazing, the bathroom with a huge window on the entire wall, a stunning turquoise color during the day, a starry sky at night. Neighbors won't see anything, that's how the buildings are designed. Room: standard, clean. You don’t leave a tip, everything is standard, but I think if there are more teas, they will make pathos of towels and flowers in your room.
Thais are incredibly friendly people, they always smile, it's nice and you always want to say thank you for everything. The staff at the hotel are always pleasant and helpful. I even made friends with one Taika, who later invited me to a wedding on the beach, it's very beautiful and romantic, but that's another story)
Among all the vacationers, we were the only Russian-speaking couple. All the rest, absolutely motley nations. The hotel was 60% full, but you could only see vacationers at breakfast, as the buildings are located on a large area. Who likes to look like it, but if you go from the reception to our room, for example, it took about 10 minutes to go uphill. There were electric cars, but we rarely drove them, only when we had purchases in our hands. But there are pluses, while you get on your "two" to your destination - the number, you see all the beauty of flowers, greenery, growing bananas. All sorts of ekibans were always laid out around the hotel, I even waited for a trace. days to see what they come up with today. Even Samui itself is associated with the smell of flowers, as soon as you get off the plane, this smell is with you always and everywhere.
Meals - breakfasts, standard, not obedalovo like TurkeyEgiper, but could be better. Fruit, 2 side dishes, 2 meats, muesli, vegetables, salads. Plus, if you can't stand spicy food, it's a bit inconvenient, but we weren't hungry anyway. In the market, they bought all kinds of fruits, which are not expensive, even in terms of our hryvnias. Juicy pineapple, mango, mangosteen - that was our lunch.
The hotel has 2 swimming pools, but one was under renovation. It didn’t bother us, we didn’t swim in the pool, preferring the warm sea))))

The beach is a clear minus of the hotel, there is actually no ego, there is a poured concrete entrance and near it the place is designed for a maximum of 8-10 sunbeds. We went further to the beach, we didn’t lie down on the sunbeds of other hotels so that we wouldn’t drive, we just lay on the sand, sometimes it didn’t give pleasure (we took towels from the hotel). But the water near about. Koh Samui is worth it, indescribably clean, azure, warm (about 30), transparent. White, fine sand.
There are a lot of living creatures on the island: once lying quietly on the sunbeds, we saw a snake crawling quietly, it almost merged with the twigs, but who is afraid of them is not nice))))
Many lizards run through trees, roads, but they are harmless and even interesting to admire them)
We went to Chaweng beach several times, I don’t advise it, the sea is dirtier there, the beach is also, there are a lot more people. It takes about 15 minutes to drive from the hotel to Chaweng, all entertainment and shops are mainly concentrated there, every evening we went there or to the fishing village to have dinner.
If we talk about the hotel is 4+.
Pros: Quiet hotel. Cons: hotel location, beach.
But the advantages of rest on about. Koh Samui is much larger, you need to initially tune in to the positive, and after seeing all the beauties of the island, you will not be able to resist.
Koh Samui is an unforgettable vacation, I am very glad that I went there. I wish you all to visit it, you won't regret it, it's worth it! ! It was very sad to leave him.
