We were on Koh Samui in April 2011. Two weeks before the trip, the news reported some kind of terrible flood on this and neighboring islands, but we did not find the slightest hint of a natural disaster. Everything was clean and tidy!

We really liked the hotel itself, the room was a standard double garden view. Despite the fact that the ocean was not visible from the windows, this turned out to be even an advantage, since chaeweng beach is a very lively place, and we, relaxing on the balcony in the evening, enjoyed the sounds of nature only - no noise, no loud music! Having missed civilization, they left the room and, after walking for about five minutes, found themselves in the center of events.

At first, it seemed like a minus that the hotel was separated by a fairly busy public road, but in the end it didn’t cause any problems, since it really was 5 minutes walk to the water anyway, and since guards are on duty at the crossing around the clock, blocking the traffic in order to so that tourists can move freely.

I really liked the hotel staff: all polite, friendly, ready to fulfill any request and answer any question. Cleaning and laundry are done professionally and with high quality. The breakfasts were quite tasty and varied, fresh fruits, juices and smoothies were always offered to choose from.

There are a lot of different cafes and bars in the vicinity, but after a few days we stopped at the hotel restaurants. The Italian restaurant has a real Italian chef, and they cook very tasty! More than once we order fresh pizza on a crispy thin dough right to the pool!
The biggest minus is the sea in the area of the hotel. It is very shallow, and the bottom is overgrown with algae, and so on throughout Chaeveng, so swimming was not very interesting and not very pleasant. As a result, in order to swim normally, we went to neighboring beaches several times (Lamai and Mae Nam). It costs 300 baht by taxi to get there, or 100 baht per person in an Open van. Most of all, of course, I liked Mae Nam. Next time I would choose a hotel on this beach. The sand there is yellow, but very clean, there are many palm trees that create a life-giving shade, the water is clear, the bottom is pleasant, very quiet and secluded.
